Wavve Original ‘Weak Hero Class 1’ Park Ji-hoon is trying to transform his image by challenging himself with new action series, “Weak Hero Class 1”. The images from the scenes, drew high attention due to the total change of his characters he has acted before.
Wavve original drama “Weak Hero Class 1” is a story about growth of a vulnerable boy who is confronted with numerous violence with the other students. Park Ji Hoon plays the role of “Yeon Si Eun” and depicts a character who is a top student that was not interested in anything other than studying, using his brain power and objects to strategically fight violence and become the weak hero.
Park Ji Hoon stated, “He is calm and focused in every situation, and he lives in his own style in a jungle-like school.” These characters are also reflected in the action. “Si Eun has never learned to fight. Therefore, Park Ji Hoon’s action point is that he uses his head to set up strategies and uses objects and tools rather than violence. In the trailer, it also showed how Si Eun used his knowledge and reflexes rather than his fist, to fight against the bullies.
Park Ji Hoon took on his first action acting challenge and Si Eun’s different perspective in action required him to think and practice more. “I learned a lot from long ago by going to action school, working together with martial arts directors and action seniors. Park Ji Hoon added, “I practiced not only thinking about action but also about the team work with the other actors. I tried to relax and make it as natural as possible when acting in action. Multiple rehearsals helped a lot” he said. “Weak Hero Class 1” is highly anticipated since it is not a typical action series where a lot of people are accustomed to. But a new action perspective with using objects rather than fist and violence.
