Music fans are probably already familiar with “Any Song,” the hit single by Block B’s Zico. The rapper made a Perfect All-Kill (PAK) on the South Korean charts — the first of 2020. (A PAK refers to a song hitting No. 1 on the daily and real-time charts of Bugs, Genie, Melon and Soribada, in addition to the real-time charts on iChart and Flo.)
In a fun promotion for his song, Zico created the “Any Song” challenge and it swept through South Korea. After Zico danced along to the song with idols such as Sandara Park, Chungha and Mamamoo’s Hwasa, other celebrities (such as Tiffany Young, Park Shin-Hye and Lee Hyori) shared videos of themselves doing the familiar dance moves.
Who knew that the cutest version of the challenge would come from none other than Song Ji-Hyo on “Running Man“? The veteran member of the variety show is known for her beauty, wit and strength. But dancing? Nah, it’s not one of her strong points.
Or is it?
On Episode 496, Song got to prove to her doubting castmates (and Zico) that she has got the moves. Zico, who danced with her, looked surprised and pleased at how well she did.
“Any Song” challenge aside, this particular episode was side-splitting good. First, there was a whole lot of handsome going on. Besides Zico, actors Lee Do-Hyun, Seo Ji-Hoon and Ong Seong-Wu were teamed together with Yang Se-Chan and their team captain Lee Kwang-Soo. They played together as a team (kinda sorta), but proved best at looking out for No. 1 … themselves!
Then there was the return of the name tag elimination. Yes! I give props to Zico who went all out to try to retrieve as many name tags from the opposing team as possible. But his first three attempts were hysterically (and somewhat scarily) interrupted by Kim Jong-Kook, who popped out of nowhere to deny him.
Incidentally, I would’ve loved to have seen Ong take part in the challenge. A talented singer and dancer in his own right, he was a former member of Wanna One and appeared with Kang Daniel on “The Master Key.”
Coincidentally, Kang Daniel appeared on the “Running Man” episode prior to this one and was his usual charming and cunning self. You can check that out here.
