Recently, you can’t really talk about  K-Dramas without talking about revenge or school bullying. It’s everywhere! But school bullying is actually a big realistic issue, which is why these problems are conveyed well throughout many K-Dramas.

The most recent drama that did this theme well is Song Hye Kyo’s “The Glory,” where her character prepares to take her long awaited revenge on a bully who tortured her horribly during her high school days.

Another K-Drama that explores this theme is KOCOWA’s megahit drama, “Weak Hero Class 1,” that received so much love that it is now in the works to film a second season. Fans of this show loved the realistic take of the drama explored in school bullying and in the students ability to overcome it in unique straightforward ways. Plus the acting was outstanding!

Now that we are counting down the days until season two of one of the best revenge themed K-Dramas of all time, “Taxi Driver,” I cannot help but talk about Choi Hyun Wook who really shined through all his episodes in “Weak Hero Class 1” and also in his episodes of “Taxi Driver” season one.

Did you guys all know Choi Hyun Wook was in “Taxi Driver”?

Choi Hyun Wook played a character in “Weak Hero Class 1” as An Soo Ho who throws himself out there to help his classmates who suffer from bullying. The ending of season one for Soo Ho was rather sad because he was defeated after fighting a bully. (Hopefully we get to see him again in season two)

However, in the first season of “Taxi Driver” episodes 3 and 4, Choi Hyun Wook starred as Seung Tae, a terrible bully who gets his butt kicked by the Rainbow Taxi Company. Lee Je Hoon, playing Kim Do Ki, is the head of the Deluxe Taxi drivers and works for the Rainbow Taxi Company. This company offers a “revenge-call” service for those who are silenced by injustice. Lee Je Hoon gets a request from a high school student asking desperatly for help from bullies and Lee Je Hoon delivers by scaring their butts off! One of the bullies was played by Choi Hyun Wook who had the chane to show both sides of being the person bullying someone and the person who is being bullied!

When we talk about bullying, we cannot NOT talk about “The Penthouse”.

“The Penthouse” also received so much attention and had up to seasons three. The school bully is played by Han Ji Hyun, who played her role so well that it actually made me mad! She then played a totally opposite college student in “CHEER UP,” showing her versatility as an actor.

Next we have Kim Young Dae who played Ju Seok Hoon in “The Penthouse”. He also played a very different role as Lee Heon in “The Forbidden Marriage”.

We are really looking forward to season two of “Taxi Driver”! Who else is with us? There are only 2 weeks left so be sure to go subscribe to KOCOWA and binge-watch season one, right now, so you are very well prepared for the new season!
