It has been over 9 years since viewers met the energetic visionaries of “Dream High 2.” The series illustrated an intense competition between famous singers and ordinary high school students. Together, they learned valuable life lessons while discovering their own unique talents. In real life, the fresh cast was full of accomplished recording artists, rookie actors and idol trainees. True fans of the show probably miss them terribly. Let’s take a brief look at the main cast now and the K-dramas they have starred in recently.
Shin Hae Sung – actress Kang So Ra (31)
So Ra has been very busy in her private and professional life. In 2020, she married a doctor, and the couple welcomed a sweet baby girl into the world in April. Professionally, she took on several dramas over the span of nine years. Besides the well known tvN cable shows like “Misaeng” and “Revolutionary Love,” she is beloved for fan favorites “Doctor Stranger,” “Warm and Cozy” and “My Lawyer, Mr.Joe.”
Jin Yoo Jin – actor and 2AM member Jeong Jin Woon (30)
His contract with JYP Entertainment ended in 2015, but he remains a member of the esteemed ballad group 2AM. He restarted his career with the agency Mystic Story shortly after. Of course, Jin Woon is still dedicated to his acting career! His roles in “Marriage Not Dating” (tVN), “Let Me Introduce Her,” “Still 17” and “So Not Worth It” (Netflix) are living proof!
Hershe member Rian – actress and T-ara member Park Ji Yeon (28)
Ji Yeon has made agency changes over the years, and she even became a free agent after her contract with Partners Park expired in July. None of that has hindered her acting career in any way! She continues to pursue her passion through K-dramas like “Triangle,” “I Wanna Hear Your Song,” “Imitation,” and “Next Door Witch J” (Watcha).
Eden idol member JB – actor and GOT7 member JayB (27)
Even though he was a main cast member of “Dream High 2,” JayB was only a JYP Entertainment trainee when he was cast. Since then, he changed his stage name from JB to JayB and became a successful musician. He did try acting once again with the K-dramas “When a Man Falls in Love” and “Dream Night” (Youku Tudou).
Jung Ui Bong – actor and GOT7 member Jinyoung (26)
Under the stage name Jr, he was also a JYP Entertainment trainee during the filming of “Dream High 2.” After album releases and numerous K-dramas, he is a bonafide star! The audience knows him best for his roles in “When a Man Falls in Love,” “Legend of The Blue Sea” and several tvN programs like “He Is Psychometric” and “The Devil Judge.”

Si Woo – Park Seo Jun
He was just a supporting character in “Dream High 2,” but he has risen to A-list actor status since playing an Eden boy band member. Seo Jun is now an award-winning actor who consistently lands leading roles. Fans know him best for the K-dramas “Kill Me Heal Me,” “She Was Pretty,” “Hwarang: The Poet Warrior Youth,” “Fight For My Way” and several cable shows.
Notable cast members SISTAR’s Hyolin and soloist Ailee are 30 and 32 years old, respectively. They decided to take their music careers to new heights, but didn’t pursue acting any further after “Dream High 2.” The famous teachers from the series are doing well too. Park Jin Young (49) made cameos in “Dream Knight” and “THE Producers.” He mainly focuses on running JYP Entertainment, although he has served as a judge on music competition programs like “Kpop Star” and “LOUD,” and he hosts special productions (for example “JYP’s Party People“). Kahi (40) left After School to get married and start a family. She and her husband are the proud parents of two sons. Kahi returned to the entertainment industry to participate in musicals and be a mentor/judge for aspiring musicians on Mnet’s “Produce 101” and “Produce 48.”
