Taemin is a powerful force in the music industry! After making his debut at a young age, he has expanded his career from SHINee member, solo artist and now global icon through SuperM. Every year he seems to gain more recognition and praise from his fellow musicians. This summer, Taemin will be taking a much-needed break from entertainment life by serving his mandatory military term. He is scheduled to enlist on May 31, and longtime fans (also known as ShaWols) are already missing him. Nonetheless, Taemin remains a source of happiness for fans and fellow singers alike. It’s time to honor him by listing some of the things everyone will terribly miss about the 27-year-old star during his hiatus.

His magic aura in the K-pop industry.

Since he debuted at the tender age of 14, a host of male K-pop singers idolize Taemin. He has perfected his craft over the past decade and leaves us in awe year after year. Even female singers like KARD’s Jiwoo and Alexa admit to having crushes on him.

ShaWols will miss him being a parental figure in SuperM.

Ever since SuperM began in 2019, veteran K-pop fans acknowledged a fellow veteran.  Taemin has the most professional experience out of everyone in the group, because he debuted years before them (circa 2008). Born in 1993, Taemin is the second eldest and Baekhyun, Kai, Taeyong, Ten, Lucas and Mark admire and respect him. Many of the members are self-proclaimed ShaWols. SuperM the Beginning gives us a glimpse into his interaction with them.

ShaWols will miss him as a baby member of SHINee.

Lee Taemin is the youngest member of the SM Entertainment boy band, and he will always be the precious baby to fans. He looks up to his older brothers Onew, Key, Minho and our forever angel Jonghyun, and his jokes with SHINee brightens the darkest of days.

His explosive live performances.

Taemin blows everyone away when he is performing with SHINee, SuperM and as a solo artist. In 2020, his choreography for the tracks in the “Never Gonna Dance Again” albums were pure wizardry. Music lovers are instantly put under his spell with his alluring vocals and innate dance skills.

His sweet vocals on K-drama original soundtracks.

SHINee has given him many opportunities to join drama soundtracks. His band can be heard on “Boys Over Flowers,” “Prosecutor Princess” and “To The Beautiful You” albums just to name a few. One of his best solo songs titled “Steps” can be heard on the “Prime Minister and I” soundtrack.

Taemin’s hilarious livestreams

K-pop singers have been utilizing social media to the best of their abilities since its inception. However, Taemin has been so busy releasing new music annually that he didn’t have time to devote to social networking websites. All that changed when his members enlisted in the military in late 2018 and early 2019. While they proudly served their country, he kept the SHINee name relevant by engaging in comedic and upbeat conversations with fans through Vlive and Instagram livestreams. He continued to share the love with his weekly YouTube series on SHINee’s YouTube Channel.
