“Three Bold Siblings” Episode 40 & 41 Recap and Trailer Breakdown

So Rim and Mu Young’s relationship is at stake!

Let’s highlight the key recap points from episodes 40 & 41 of “Three Bold Siblings”.

“Three Bold Siblings” Episodes 40 & 41 Recap:

• An awkward encounter takes place when Mu Young’s ex-wife barges in when he was romantically proposing to So Rim. His ex-wife makes cynical remarks congratulating So Rim on her engagement, and Mu Young cannot stand it and tells her to leave the house immediately. But Ji Hye does not let him. So Rim does not back down either and tells Mu Young’s ex-wife to just mind her own business. However, she makes another snarky comment to So Rim and says the ring on her finger is cheaper than the one she got from Mu Young in the past. Ji Hye begs Mu Young to rethink getting back together with her mother again.

• Ji Hye’s mom apologizes to Ji Hye for abandoning them when Ji Hye was young. They mend things and promise each other to think positively and try their best to work things through.

• Sung Jun does everything to make things right with Ji Woo. Sung Jun knows that Ji Woo was very hurt in the process of everyone trying to figure out who Ji Woo’s biological father was. And when Ji Woo found out that his father, Young Sik, lied about the fact that Sung Jun was Ji Woo’s biological father, Ji Woo felt taken advantage of and was devastated. Sung Jun asks Young Sik to ask the lab to resend the DNA result Young Sik received many years ago, but Young Sik refuses.

• Ji Woo goes to Se Ran and apologizes for everything that happened. He is blaming everything on him. Ji Woo keeps saying sorry and leaves, he acts like he will never return.

• Ji Hye worries about her mother’s health and tries to find out what type of medicine her mother is taking.

• Ji Woo ran away from him, leaving a small note saying that he is sorry and that he doesn’t want to burden anyone. He thinks that it is better if he leaves the family. Eun Ju and Young Sik are worried sick about Ji Woo’s whereabouts.

• Ji Hye’s biological mother begs Mu Young if she can just stay home with them. Mu Young is disgusted by her and gives her a key to a residence place Mu Young rented for her to stay. But, she insists on staying with Mu Young and even threatens him to reveal the truth to Ji Hye that she is not Mu Young’s biological daughter. (Wait what?!?! So Ji Hye is NOT Mu Young’s biological daughter!!!)

• Hee Eun (Ji Hye’s mother) is working with MINT company which is a close partner with Mu Young’s company So Rim is working in! Hee Eun introduces herself to So Rim and says that they will be working together closely. So Rim smirks and shakes Hee Eun’s hand in a nonchalant manner.

• Everyone is looking for Ji Woo, but then we see a scene where Ji Woo is contemplating whether to jump in the river or not. Tae Ju and Sang Jun finally find Ji Woo, who was sitting near the river, lost in his thoughts. Tae Ju, who empathizes with Ji Woo’s situation, tries to talk him out of persuading him to go back home with them. Ji Woo doesn’t go home but follows Tae Ju to Yun Ho’s cottage.

• Mu Young’s ex-wife, Hee Eun, starts to visit Mu Young’s company to work as a partner. There, she deliberately tells everyone that she is Ji Hye’s mother and also that Mu Young is the CEO’s ex-wife. So Rim was flustered, and all the other employees were a bit shocked by her indiscreet comment.

• Sang Jun tries to really find out why Young Sik has lied this whole time. Tae Ju tells Sang Jun what she has heard from Yun Ho, that Se Ran went to go meet Jang Mi who is in jail right now, and maybe she can tell Se Ran the whole truth.

• Se Ran visits Jang Mi at the jail, and there she asks a series of questions that might lead to why Young Sik and Jang Mi deceived everyone into believing that Ji Woo is Sang Jun’s biological son. Se Ran finds that Jang Mi just wanted to abandon her baby boy and leave it to Sang Jun because she believed back then that Sang Jun was a good guy and he would take good care of her baby. So she lied to Young Sik and said that it was Sang Jun’s son, but Jang Mi also tells Se Ran that it seemed like Young Sik didn’t even check if Ji Woo was really Sang Jun’s son and just told her that he will just raise Ji Woo. Jang Mi tells Se Ran that Young Sik knew all along that Ji Woo wasn’t Sang Jun’s son to begin with. Se Ran didn’t believe what Jang Mi was saying, so she visits the very first DNA lab that Young Sik claims to visit for the paternity test to see for herself, that led everyone into this situation. Se Ran can’t believe that Young Sik would do such a thing.

• Mu Young visits So Rim’s family home and officially introduces himself to everyone. Young Sook really was against this relationship, but after Mu Young’s kind words and commitment to the relationship, Young Sook wavers.

• Mu Young goes back home with So Rim, but there she is, Hee Eun, dropping a big bomb on them. Hee Eun tells them that she is terminally ill and that she only has six months. She begs for 1 year of time with Mu Young. So Rim is stunned.

Se Ran asks Sung Jun’s manager to find someone for her – Young Sik’s mother.

Young Sik visits where Ji Woo is, and Ji Woo yells at Young Sik to know who he really wanted to avenge using Ji Woo. Then Young Sik slaps Ji Woo in the face.

Hee Eun asks Hyun Jung to go out for dinner sometime with Mu Young, but Hyun Jung is disgusted by it.

Hee Eun sent gifts to So Rim’s family home on purpose to threaten So Rim.
