Are you guys aware of this good news yet?
KBS2 weekend drama “Young Lady and Gentleman,” one of the hottest shows in K-Dramaland, decided to extend two more episodes. The series was originally a total of 50 episodes, but due to the popularity of the show, the production has decided to add two more, making it a total of 52 episodes. HOORAY!
This series has been doing so well, not only in Korea but also internationally, and maybe here are some reasons why:
All-Time Favorite, K-Drama ‘Makjang’ Element
It is a bit of a cliche when we talk about the makjangness of K-Dramas because we tend to see them a lot. “Young Lady and Gentleman” definitely has makjangness here and there – Young Guk having amnesia and becoming a 22-year-old after a minor accident in the mountains to Jun Oh going out with his step-cousin Mi Rim, these situations sound ridiculous, as is, but it is loved in K-Dramaland.

The Children Actors
Some people might not agree, but I see many articles in Korea talking about how talented the kid actors are in “Young Lady and Gentleman.” Especially the youngest kid of Young Guk’s Se Jong (which is not his biological son. OOPS, a little spoiler!), with his Shrek Cat’s eyes and the adorable acting, he has really gotten into many of the viewer’s hearts in Korea. Just watching him cry and act in such a realistic way, Se Jong definitely played a huge part in why the ratings are amazingly high relative to other dramas.
The Forbidden Love
I mean, it is like a modern RoI mean, it is like a modern Romeo and Juliet, per se. The way Young Guk and Dan Dan are in this forbidden love is making the viewers want to see this couple get together more and more (If you know what I mean). The huge age gap (14 year difference) is making it very difficult for them to be in a normal relationship. I see myself giving up on this couple, then the next thing I know, I have my hands together praying for their happiness. This drama also has a fast-paced storyline with so many twists and turns that it makes viewers go nuts. But at the same time, once they start watching, there is no turning back. Here I am, spending a good 40 hours watching up to 39 episodes.
