What makes you feel the loneliest after watching a drama? For me, it’s when you’ve finally found a good drama and have a lot to say about it, but no one seems to be talking about it. Or rather, no one seems to be even watching it!

Here are 5 that we think are underappreciated.

1. Spring Turns to Spring

봄이 오나 봄 | 드라마 | iMBC

The plot of this drama might sound really simple and predictable to you. Kim Bo-Mi (Played by Lee Yu-Ri) is a news anchorwoman who is extremely self-centered. Lee Bom (Played by Uhm Ji-Won) used to be a popular actress, but is now a devoted housewife and mother. The two were given a drink by mistake and they switch bodies.

Though it sounds predictable, it’s far from being a boring drama. The two leads are hilarious whenever they try to cover up for each other clumsily after each unplanned body switch. It’s a drama that sucks you in almost right away with their silly, crazy antics and will leave your belly hurting for hours after watching.

2. Children of Nobody

Children of Nobody (TV Series 2018-2019) — The Movie Database (TMDb)

A mystery drama that makes even its genre a mystery in the beginning. The drama began with Child Counselor Cha Woo-Kyung (Played by Kim Sun-Ah) who started seeing strange hallucinations. She sees a little girl in a green dress running around but the strange thing is, no one else could see her. Yet, the little girl leads her to find domestically abused children quicker than the police. This makes viewers question whether it’s a horror drama at the start of the series, but as the story unravels and builds up, it leaves an impactful, strong message about child abuse–Child abuse scars the child forever.

3. Matrimonial Chaos

[maxbutton id=”186″ ]  [maxbutton id=”189″ ]

Its alternate title tells a lot more–“The Best Divorce.” Kang Hwi-Roo (Played by Bae Doo-Na) and Jo Seok-Moo (Played by Cha Tae-Hyun) have been a married couple for 3 years, but they are getting tired of each other. They begin to realize that they are very different people who won’t mix well. They fight over the littlest things–a piece of cleaning cloth, a slice of cake, and more. For this couple, it takes a divorce to realize that they still love each other, and that love is more complex than it seems. The word “complicated” would describe this drama best. Although easy to follow, the drama accurately portrays how complicated humans and relationships can be, be it between family members, in-laws, or couples. But the real charm of this drama is its relatable, meaningful quotes. Here’s one of my favorite: “The crayon we like best will always be used up first.”

4. Good Manager

Kim Sung-Ryong (Played by Namkoong Min) is a witty accountant who works for gangsters. Later, he goes to work as a manager in a company in an attempt to earn money quicker. There’s no doubt that Kim Sung-Ryong is an anti-hero in the beginning. He’s not exactly a law-bidding citizen, the man doesn’t hesitate to do anything for money which includes cheating. But after joining the company and witnessing so much corruption and unfairness there, he quickly turns into a reluctant hero helping people out. This is where the fun is. The main character starts off being too self-centered to be likable, but as he grows as a character, he will grow on you. He’s an “anti-hero” you will fall in love with.

5. You’re All Surrounded

The clumsy rookie detectives create most of the humor in this drama.

Three rookie detectives work under an experienced detective, Seo Pan-Seok (Played by Cha Seung-Won), the leader of the team. As the leader of the team, Pan-Seok flares up and wants them to quit in the beginning because he thinks that they are always messing things up. As much as these rookies are just being rookies, they are very much lacking in teamwork which makes things worse. Well, at the very least, they bring humor to viewers!
