Today is a very memorable and special day for the first man we ever loved and who is always there for us: our fathers! It’s unfortunate because fathers are sometimes overlooked, so let’s make this Father’s Day extra special by spending quality time together.
One great way to bond is by introducing K-Dramas that fathers would like and binge-watch them with the whole family! K-Dramas offer a wide variety of genres, so there are a lot of shows that I’m sure every father would enjoy. We all know how much our fathers love us, so they will definitely appreciate this small but heartwarming gesture we do for them!
“Taxi Driver“
Your father might enjoy this action thriller K-drama starring Lee Je Hoon. “Taxi Driver” is about a group of victims who work together in a company that offers a revenge-call service to its clients who have been wronged and helps them take revenge in the most satisfying ways.
A 10/10 K-Drama that is based on real-life crimes that happened in Korea and how they give light to different timely social issues every episode. I swear that every father would enjoy this drama because it has action, thriller, and mystery elements that will keep you going.
“Defendant“
If your father loves those two dramas above, I bet he would enjoy this too! “Defendant” is a mystery thriller about a prosecutor who wakes up with temporary amnesia and finds himself as a death row convict.
The main character in this drama is none other than Jisung, who’s playing a father who’s doing his best to clear his name and save his daughter. It’s a one-of-a-kind brilliant K-Drama that is good from the start to the end, so everyone, especially every father, will enjoy this!
“Once Again“
Enough with thrillers, let’s go with a wholesome family K-Drama like “Once Again,” which showed us how having a strong father can build a fantastic family. The family drama is about the chaotic divorce story of the Song family, which comprises a frugal father, a lovely yet narcissistic mother, and four successful adult children with their own unique personalities.
KBS family dramas are always the best, and this drama perfectly showed everyone’s character development and family struggles that you can’t help but feel attached to the story. I’m sure that when you watch this with your father, you two will end up being emotional, seeing that every father only wants the best for their children.
“18 Again”
A wholesome family K-Drama mixed with fantasy is Kim Ha Neul and Lee Do Hyun’s “18 Again”. A melodrama shows that fathers will always be there for their children no matter what happens. This drama made me cry a lot because of the storyline and heartwarming scenes in the drama. P.S. I still can’t forget about the umbrella scene.
“Young Lady and Gentleman“
Another family drama that shows the father’s hardship is Ji Hyun Woo’s “Young Lady and Gentleman“. A romantic family drama between a widower with three children and a live-in tutor for his kids and how their romance blossomed.
If you’re looking for a drama to show appreciation for a father’s love, this is the drama for you. Ji Hyun Woo, as a widower, had significant character development as a dad of three kids. Despite having a crazy ride watching, the drama is still enjoyable to watch, thanks to the leads and the kids’ cuteness!
“Two Weeks“
An emotional and thrilling K-Drama that I recommend you to watch with your father is Lee Joon Gi’s “Two Weeks.” About a gangster who finds out after eight years that he has a daughter who is suffering from leukemia and only his bone marrow can save her.
The drama shows the life-threatening story of a father who will do everything to save his child despite experiencing many difficulties in his past life of being a gangster. The drama is really intense and perfect for those who love action mysteries!
“Stove League“
We all know how much dads love sports, so I recommend this fantastic baseball-themed K-Drama! Starring Namkoong Min and Park Eun Bin, “Stove League” centers on a Korean professional baseball team that has placed last in the league for the past four seasons and their new General Manager, who helped them get back on their feet.
What’s impressive about this drama is how it gets better with every episode, so watching this with your father will make you two anticipate what will happen next! You’ll also fall in love with baseball since it’s a drama that shows how amazing the sport is.
“Hospital Playlist”
A drama dedicated to single fathers! This drama is not your ordinary medical drama because it’s a drama about the life of people set in a hospital. One of the main characters in the drama is Lee Ik Jun, who is a single father to his cute son, and the drama shows how he’s one of the best dads ever. He did his best to understand and take care of him.
Once Again, Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful dads who only want what’s best for their children! Let’s binge-watch these amazing shows on KOCOWA!
