We’re only three months into 2023, and a lot has happened when it comes to relationships in the Korean entertainment world. IU and Lee Jong Suk started dating, Lee Seung Gi got engaged, and Song Joong Ki married a British actress and became an expectant father in the blink of an eye!
Love is in the air, but for golden couple Hyun Bin and Son Ye Jin, malicious rumors are dampening their marital bliss. On March 15th, a YouTube channel posted a video saying they were divorced after six months together. The reason? Hyun Bin losing property while gambling overseas, and Son Ye Jin seeking to end their marriage because of it.
That kind of news would shake entire continents. Fortunately, both actors’ agencies were quick to call the rumors ridiculous. In fact, Son Ye Jin’s agency, MS Team Entertainment is threatening to pursue legal action after investigating the bold claim.
As a big “Crash Landing On You” fan, I’m relieved the rumor isn’t true. Son Ye Jin is pregnant for crying out loud. Let her be pregnant in peace.
Bonus Couple News: Lee Da Hae and Se7en are getting married!
To end on a pleasant note, Lee Da Hae and Se7en (pronounced “Seven”) have announced they’re getting married!! For those of you who don’t know, Lee Da Hae is a national treasure. She’s a veteran actress who dominated the romance genre with dramas like “Sweet 18”, “Green Rose”, and my personal favorite “My Girl”. She also dabbled in action/thrillers and heavier material like “East of Eden“, “Miss Ripley”, and “IRIS 2”.
Se7en is an OG K-Pop soloist. He was signed with YG back in the early 2000s, and was basically the Korean equivalent of Usher (music-wise). I had most of his songs on repeat, so this is great news.
Lee Da Hae and Se7en start dating in 2015 and will tie the knot on May 6th after eight years together. They released some beautiful engagement photos, so I can’t imagine how beautiful the wedding will be. I’m looking forward to the pictures, their new life as husband and wife, and any upcoming projects.
Let’s breathe a sigh of relief…
