The weather is finally heating up, and so is ‘Battle of the Dramas’! May’s edition was Lee Dong Wook vs Lee Jae Wook. It was a really difficult choice with Lee Dong Wook’s iconic drama “Goblin” going up against Lee Jae Wook’s international sensation “Alchemy of Souls”. After a fierce battle, “Alchemy of Souls” ended up winning with 51.77% of the votes! It was a close call, though. “Goblin” had 48.23% of the votes.
Now get ready for the…
Battle of the Parks
Park Seo Joon is a K-drama powerhouse at this point. He’s been in wildly successful dramas like “Kill Me, Heal Me”, “She Was Pretty”, “Hwarang” (with BTS’s V), “Fight for My Way”, “What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim”, and “Itaewon Class”. The latter broke all kinds of records and was many people’s introduction to Korean dramas.
Now Park Seo Joon has joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe. He’ll be starring in the Marvels alongside Brie Larson as Yan D’ Aladna. The U.S. release date is November 10, 2023, so K-drama fans are excited.
When it comes to Park Bo Gum, many fondly know him as Choi Taek from the hit drama “Reply 1988”. He’s also starred in “Hello Monster”, “Love in the Moonlight”, “Encounter”, and “Record of Youth”.
He gets a lot of love for his infectious smile and earnest portrayal of characters. That’s why he’s been given the title “The Nation’s Younger Brother”.
So, who will your vote go to for June? International It Boy Park Seo Joon or Korea’s Younger Brother Park Bo Gum? Both actors have a lot of excellent dramas, so it was hard to narrow them down. I ended up going with dramas that were popular and rated well. As always, vote for your favorite below. The poll will close Friday, June 16th at 12AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Kill Me, Heal Me vs Reply 1988
Both dramas are phenomenal, but my vote goes to “Kill Me, Heal Me”. The plot was unique and it made me sob like a baby. Jisung and Park Seo Joon’s comedic scenes are also unforgettable.
Itaewon Class vs Encounter
Many may not agree, but I’ll always be a sucker for noona romances, beautiful cinematography, and great OSTs. That means “Encounter” gets my vote.
With that said, don’t forget to vote so your favorite dramas come out on top! The results will be posted in July’s ‘Battle of the Dramas’.
