Here are the highlights of episodes 5 & 6 of “Beauty and Mr. Romantic”.
“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 5 & 6 Recap:
- Do Ra’s younger brother, Do Shik, proposes to his girlfriend but gets brutally rejected. Out of sadness, he goes to the Han River to get some fresh air and to throw away the diamond ring he had bought for the proposal. When he thinks he has thrown away the ring, it ends up landing near Myung Dong, who is also having a solo drink to relieve stress. They become friends and end up at a hotel, with the diamond ring on her finger. Do Shik, who strongly regrets what he did the previous night, asks Myung Dong to meet the next day and requests the ring back. Myung Dong is heartbroken because she had finally thought she would get married.
- Mi Ja, who struggles with her gambling habits, gets into trouble by being unable to pay off her debts to other players. She has been secretly doing this behind Do Ra’s back, as she works hard to support her whole family. Nevertheless, Mi Ja overlooks his efforts and continues to indulge in her personal life with gambling. She even asks the investors if she can withdraw Do Ra’s guarantee money in advance.
- As the days go by, Do Ra cannot shake off the question mark in her head about Director Go, who bears a striking resemblance to her first love, Go Dae Chung. She asks him if he has any relatives named Go Dae Chung. Director Go is flustered because he is him! However, he does not want to reveal that information and tells her he does not know anyone with that name. Do Ra adds that he used to really like her, leaving Pil Seung bewildered because it was actually the opposite.
- They move on to filming their drama. It was a scene where Do Ra have to be in a dangerous situation, but to make matters worse, her stunt double couldn’t make it to the location
- Geum Ja is in desperate need of money to help her son and finds a way every day to get some money for him. She remembers Mi Ja, who took money from her in-law, who also passed away after Mi Ja shocked him with her hurtful words. Geum Ja knew that Do Ra and her family were now prosperous after Do Ra became a superstar. Geum Ja blackmails Mi Ja to pay back the money she took by leading him on with interest, totaling 50,000 USD. Geum Ja succeeds and shares this money with her son.
- Do Ra had some trouble with her fellow actor due to getting involved in a sticky situation with his girlfriend. He and Do Ra became enemies, which made it very difficult for the staff to satisfy their needs to proceed with filming. Pil Seung was the one who was really kind to Do Ra and tried to side with her, doing anything to make her feel better and supported. However, she was not the only one he was siding with. Pil Seung also went to the other actor and gossiped with him about Do Ra so they both could put aside their animosities and move on. Do Ra found out about this and felt very betrayed by Pil Seung.
“Beauty and Mr. Romantic” Episode 7 Trailer breakdown:
Gong Jin Dan, the concubine’s son of a big business family, has a secret crush on Do Ra, and he does not hesitate to pursue her. Do Ra does not seem to dislike his attention.
Pil Seung genuinely apologizes to Do Ra for leading her on, thinking she wasn’t at fault for the situation that arose during filming.
Do Ra who was feeling let down and listless, Jin Dan, sees this as a chance for Gong Jin Dan to win her heart.
