On Wednesday night at approximately 8:10 PM, ASTRO’s Moon Bin was found dead in his Gangnam home by his manager. The news has shaken global fans and many are left in disbelief. So far the police have said, “It appears that Moon Bin took his own life. We are currently discussing the possibility of an autopsy to determine the precise cause of death.”
Fantagio, his agency, also released a statement: “We are sorry to bring you such sad and heartbreaking news. On April 19th, ASTRO member Moon Bin suddenly left us and became a star in the sky. We can’t compare the grief of his family who have lost their beloved son and brother, but ASTRO members who have been together for a long time, as well as our fellow artists and staff at Fantagio, are deeply mourning and in shock.
We would like to express our condolences to those who have supported and sent unconditional love to Moon Bin. It hurts even more to bring you this sudden news because we know more than anyone how much he loved and cared for his fans.
We earnestly request that speculative and malicious reports be refrained from in consideration of the bereaved family who are deeply saddened by the sudden news.
Finally, according to the wishes of the family, the funeral will be held quietly with only family, relatives, and company colleagues attending. Once again, we send our deepest condolences to Moon Bin on his final journey.”
There has been an outpouring of grief as fans take to social media to express themselves. The hashtag #moonbin was trending on Twitter with millions of Tweets in different languages, so it’s clear that he touched the lives of many.
Our deepest condolences go out to Moon Bin’s friends and family, including his little sister Moon Sua, who is in the girl group Billlie. We also feel deeply for the many ASTRO fans who looked forward to Moon Bin’s smile and future activities.
