Performing during halftime at the Super Bowl is many artists’ dreams. But American football isn’t the only sports people go crazy for. Every four years, the World Cup happens, drawing billions of international soccer (aka football or fútbol) fans. Each World Cup has an anthem/original soundtrack (OST), and it always draws a lot of attention to whoever sings it.
Artists that have sung the OST for the FIFA World Cup include Shakira, Pitbull, Jennifer Lopez, and Nicki Minaj. In 2022, it was BTS’s Jungkook. The song is called “Dreamers” and the upbeat drum-heavy anthem inspired people and got them dancing.
The colorful, airy music video sits at 170 million views, and now the song is the latest original soundtrack by a K-Pop soloist to hit 300 million streams on Spotify. That’s an incredible feat! It even beat out “Waka Waka” by Shakira, and that song was stuck in peoples’ heads for years!
This just goes to show that whatever BTS touches turns into gold thanks to their raw talent and dedicated fans. If you haven’t already heard “Dreamers” or watched the music video, check it out on YouTube:
