Yes, you’ve got it exactly right. “Tracer,” the year’s most anticipated and intriguing action thriller, is coming to KOCOWA!

This news made me so happy because “Tracer” isn’t available yet to international audiences since it was released last January! Thanks to KOCOWA, we can finally binge-watch all the episodes of this exciting action thriller starting on July 8th!

Reasons Why “Tracer” Is Your Next K-Drama

To begin with, “Tracer” is not your ordinary K-Drama! It stars Im Si Wan, Ko A Sung, Son Hyun Joo, and Park Yong Woo. The series revolves around the people working at the National Tax Service, which is different from what we typically see in K-Dramas.

The action thriller series is a wavve original and has two seasons that have 8 episodes each. So it’s like watching a regular 16-episode K-Drama that we are all used to!

1. A Drama that revolves around the people working at the National Tax Service

Most of us have probably seen a K-Drama about doctors, lawyers, actors, or CEOs, but have you seen one about people who work at the National Tax Service?

The main character of “Tracer,” played by Im Si Wan, is Hwang Dong Ju, a former accountant who is now the chief of Taxation of the National Tax Service’s Central Branch Tax Bureau. His main job is tracing money hidden from the tax service!

Now let’s get to know the characters!

Meet Hwang Dong Ju! A former accountant turned into the head of the Central District Tax Bureau 1. He’s bold, straightforward, clever, and has a strong drive toward his goals! He works hard to trace money that is hidden from the tax service, and his team includes Ko A Sung’s character!

Ko A Sung’s character, Seo Hye Young, is a team member of the Central District Tax Bureau 1. She is an investigator of the first team of five tax bureaus in the central government office. She is known to have a bright personality, but if she wants to break through, she will do it head-on!

Son Hyun Joo will play the role of In Tae Joon! He is the ambitious regional tax office director who wants to become the head of the Central Regional Tax Office! He earned his way to the top through corrupt and illegal actions while maintaining his cocky attitude.

Park Yong Woo will play the role of Oh Young, the boss of Hwang Dong Ju! He was once the ace of the tax bureau but now is afraid of being promoted and given bigger responsibilities.

2. Powerhouse Casts!

“Tracer” has the finest lead lineups in 2022 so far. The four major stars are well-known in South Korea, demonstrating their ability in various genres!

As a big fan of Im Si Wan, I am very excited to start watching this series. We all know Im Si Wan (Siwan) is one of the top idols turned actors, and he also chooses incredible projects! He demonstrated this by appearing in “Misaeng,” “The King in Love,” “Run On,” and more, so “Tracer” is definitely a must-see drama!

Im Si Wan once again showed his acting ability and was nominated for Best Actor at South Korea’s most prestigious entertainment awards, the “58th Baeksang Arts Awards,” for his portrayal of Hwang Dong Ju!

Did you know that while preparing for the drama, Im Si Wan did his research and asked advice from people who worked at the National Tax Service? During the “Tracer” press conference, Si Wan said he asked for help to portray this character properly!

Ko A Sung plays the female lead role in “Tracer.” She began her career as a child actress and has since appeared in a variety of films and dramas, demonstrating her talent as an actress. Some of my favorite dramas from her are “Life on Mars,” “Heard It Through the Grapevine,” and “Master of Study“!

The drama also stars experienced actors Son Hyun Joo and Park Yong Woo, who have proven their ability in a variety of dramas, including “The Chaser,” “Justice,” “Three Days,” and many others!

3. “Tracer” is a Big Hit in South Korea!

Despite not having an international audience, “Tracer” was a big hit in South Korea! It set the record for being the highest Friday and Saturday viewership ratings on wavve! When all the episodes of Season 2 were released on the platform, the number of wavve subscribers increased by almost 204% compared to the first week of Season 1!

The show’s television ratings remained stable throughout the course of the series, and the finale garnered a 9.8% viewership rating!

4. It’s only available on KOCOWA!
