So, in celebration of KOCOWA’s 5th anniversary, we are releasing 5 exclusive titles. Pay attention, and don’t miss your chance to watch these only on KOCOWA!
“High Kick”
This was once a megahit daily sitcom that everyone watched in Korea. “High Kick” aired back in 2006, but it is still loved now. This series kind of reminds me of the American sitcom “Modern Family”, where it portrays the lives of three generations living under the same roof.
Cast: Lee Soon Jae, Na Moon Hee, Park Hae Mi, Jeong Jun Ha, Kim Hye Seong, Jung Il Woo, Choi Min Young, Shin Ji, Seo Min Jung, Kim Beom, Park Min Young, Chan Seong, Jeong Shin Woo
Story: Three generations live together on the fourth floor of the Lee Soon Jae Women’s Oriental Medical Clinic building. The first generation is Soon Jae and his wife, Moon Hee, the second is Jun Ha and his wife, Hae Mi, and Min Ho and Yun Ho, the sons of Jun Ha and Hae Mi, are the third generation. Soon Jae’s second son, Min Yong, who lives in the loft after divorcing his wife and losing their apartment to her, completes the household.
Min Yong is also a gym teacher at the high school that Min Ho and Yun Ho attend. Their homeroom teacher, Min Jung, who teaches English, falls in love with Min Yong. Yu Mi, Seung Hyun, and Beom are friends of Min Ho and Yun Ho. Yu Mi is the girl next door, and her beauty makes Min Ho smitten at first sight. The relationships tangled over the three generations, and their everyday lives full of ups and downs, make up this story full of fumbling characters. Check out how the story will end.
“No, Thank You”
“No, Thank You” was a successful Park Ha Sun K-Drama that was released on Kakao TV, and bluntly portrayed the lives of possible situations that can happen between in-laws. Consisting of two seasons, “No, Thank You” is about a newlywed who navigates her way through the complicated world of in-laws and old-fashioned Korean traditions.
Cast: Park Ha Sun, Kwon Yool, Moon Hee Kyung, Kim Jong Goo, Choi Yoon Ra, Jo Wan Ki, Choi Tae Hwan
Story: Sa Rin and Mu Young studied at the same college. Years later, they run into each other and fall in love. But once they get married, they realize that the reality of everyday married life is different from what they expected. Sa Rin is a career woman who is very good at her job, but not when it comes to her in-laws. She is asked to prepare a birthday meal for her mother-in-law and constantly struggles with what to get as birthday presents for her in-laws.
On the other hand, Gu Young’s older brother, Gu Il, and his wife, Hye Rin, have no problem saying what’s on their minds to their in-laws. Can ordinary daughter-in-law Min Sa Rin persevere in the complicated world of in-laws?
“Tracer”
If you want a bit more serious K-Drama, this might be it for you. Im Si Wan was well acknowledged due to his versatile acting skills in “Tracer”. Consisting of two seasons, it is about the members of the NTS who track down the traces of shameless and corrupted money.
Cast: Im Si Wan, Ko A Sung, Son Hyun Joo, Park Yong Woo
Story: Dong Ju was an accountant at a leading company that took care of their secret funds. Dong Ju, who has experienced wealth and success, steps into the NTS following his father’s death. Fully equipped with his brazen and crazy personality, he excels as a manager in Bureau Five. Oh Young and Seo Hye Young are his teammates in Bureau Five. Young and Dong Ju start things off with a bad start, but a special occasion brings the two together. Hye Young and Dong Ju have met before, and she has also had a connection with Young in the past. With her ability to act and with her intuition, Hye Young creates a good partnership with Dong Ju.
“Summer Scent”
A K-Drama classic that aired way back in 2003. This K-Drama will definitely bring back some tingling memories you might have had during past summers. This classic stars Son Ye Jin, who is a queen of romantic K-Dramas, and Song Seung Hun, who is well-known for his looks.
Cast: Song Seung Hun, Son Ye Jin, Ryu Jin, Han Ji Hye, Shin Ae
Story: “Summer Scent” is about Hae Won, who has had heart disease since young, who finally gets a second chance in life after a heart transplant. Min Woo, who tragically loses the love of his life, meets someone that resembles his past lover. But he is racked with emotion and confusion as his feelings for the two women intertwine. Hae Won notices a drastic heart beat when she encounters Min Woo. However, Hae Won is already engaged to someone else. But the conflict builds as she starts to fall in love with Min Woo, the only person her heart reacts to…
“Becoming Witch”
Currently airing, this series covers three friends who are struggling in their married life. They all come from different backgrounds, and the only thing they have in common is that they all have someone they would like to kill.
Cast: Lee Yoo Ri, Lee Min Young, Yoon So Yi
Story: Ma Ri is a housewife of a middle-class family with a celebrity husband and a daughter who is studying abroad. It seems like she has a stable family life; however, she witnesses her husband confessing his love to another woman. Her husband wants to divorce her, which makes her want to kill him.
Hee Soo is married to a rich family’s only son, but she only nurses her mother-in-law and has no children of her own. Her mother-in-law offers her a deal when she finds out Hee Soo is going through unnecessary hardship because of her husband who doesn’t want her to get pregnant.
Jin A is single, unlike Ma Ri and Hee Soo. Jin A’s husband died five years ago and she received his insurance money. Jin A is however chased by the debtors that her dead husband owes money to. She really wants to get rid of them. How will things go with the three women who want to kill someone?
