“Iron Family” Episodes 31 & 32 Recap

Here are the highlights of episodes 31 & 32 of “Iron Family”.

Ji Yeon and the police officers visit Euak Mountain in search of the cash stolen from her. While the police are skeptical about the money being there, as they had searched the area before, they decide to use a metal detector and dig. To their surprise, they discover the missing bags of cash. Initially, the police doubt Ji Yeon’s claim to the money, but she finds her father’s will, which strengthens her argument that the money belongs to her.

Upon returning to the police station to count the cash, they discover that 40% of it lacks the “AA” label, which all of Ji Yeon’s money should have. The police inform her that they must confiscate the cash for further investigation.

Meanwhile, Bong Hee is released without any charges. Da Rim and Gang Ju are overcome with emotion, relieved by Bong Hee’s freedom. Bong Hee later learns that Gang Ju had secretly reburied the money to save her. Despite her previous animosity towards him, due to the fire and his relationship with Da Rim, she begins to feel conflicted.

Gang Ju, however, is anxious, knowing his mother, Ji Yeon, will likely suspect he was behind the reburial of the money. Da Rim expresses deep gratitude to him, vowing to remain loyal to his help.

Ji Yeon’s discovery of the money and her tax evasion scandal quickly become headline news, defaming her reputation and that of her ex-husband Seung Don’s company. Struggling to cope, she faces relentless press inquiries, requests for loans from old acquaintances, and online gossip exposing her identity nationwide.

Gang Ju stays close to Bong Hee, supporting her during this difficult time, especially with Tae Woong gone. He helps her family and bonds with them, gradually earning their trust. Mu Rim and the rest of the family also unite to ensure Bong Hee faces no further legal troubles.

Seung Don and Tae Woong propose acquiring Gang Ju’s company, Seogang Apparel. Seeing its potential, Seung Don offers to pay off its debts and an acquisition fee. Gang Ju agrees to move forward with the deal.

Ji Yeon dwells on finding it too coincidental that Bong Hee was at the police station when she discovered the money, and that Bong Hee had “AA”-labeled cash in her possession. Her suspicions deepen when she accesses Gang Ju’s phone and discovers a message between him and Da Rim discussing the remaining amount needed to cover the 10 billion Korean Won Ji Yeon had lost.
Enraged, Ji Yeon rushes to report the matter, but Gang Ju intercepts her. He pleads with her, but Ji Yeon’s world crumbles—not only because her tax evasion is now exposed, but because her son lied to protect Da Rim’s family.

Determined, Ji Yeon attempts to submit evidence implicating Bong Hee in the theft. To stop her, Gang Ju makes an emotional ultimatum: he will sever all ties with Da Rim’s family and never see them again. Reluctantly, Ji Yeon agrees and returns home, leaving Gang Ju devastated and collapsing in tears.

Ji Yeon discovers that everyone around her knows the truth, and feeling betrayed, she threatens to expose everything.
Tae Woong kneels to apologize, offering to take responsibility for Bong Hee’s actions.
Gang Ju, heartbroken, asks Da Rim to break up.
