It wasn’t a meet-cute moment for Hyo Sim and Tae Ho, but will something blossom through working out together?

Here are the highlights of episodes 1 & 2 of “Live Your Own Life”!

“Live Your Own Life” Episodes 1 & 2 Recap:

Hyo Sim (Uee) is a really hard-working person. She wakes up super early in the morning while everyone is still asleep to go to work as a gym trainer. She works this hard not because she is after her dream but because she is the family’s breadwinner. Her mother borrows money from a loan shark, and so does her brother, to chase after an impractical dream. Her mother goes from place to place to find her husband, who vanished a very long time ago, and Hyo Sim’s brother lives in this wonderland where he splurges on fancy cars, and suits that he can’t even afford.

Tae Ho (Ha Joon), who is the son of a rich conglomerate and a grandson of the TS Group, lives in the States and gets an abrupt phone call from his grandmother, who allegedly went missing a few years ago. He was told by his family that his grandmother was suffering from dementia and she ran away, but the grandmother Tae Ho remembers is someone with a lucid and smart mind. It was really odd for Tae Ho to receive a call like this, so he was certain that there was something going on. She was the only person who took care of Tae Ho when both of his parents passed away. Tae Ho comes to Korea and tries searching for his missing grandmother.

Hyo Sim has a lot on her mind because of her mother and brother. She goes off running by the river late at night and bumps into Tae Ho, who accidentally hurt his ankle.

Tae Ho goes to visit his old home in Korea. It has been a long time since he’s been in this place due to his parents passing. The only family member he really trusted was his grandmother, but now she’s gone too. He wakes up early in the morning and visits the gym in his company building to keep up with the daily workout routine he did when he was in the States. There, he catches this person working out in the dark, and this happens to be Hyo Sim.

Hyo Sim works hard today as usual, then she gets an emergency call from her mother and rushes to the hospital. Her mother was burnt while working and is in the hospital for treatment. Hyo Sim was worried, but her mother wasn’t hurt severely, so she was relieved. While caring for her mother, Hyo Sim saw her reflection in the hospital window, all tired and droopy. She realizes how spiritless her and her life is.

Tae Ho’s grandmother (Myung Hee), happens to be incarcerated in a big house out in the forest where no one can find her, and is always given drugs at the same time every day to make her drowsy. The medicine was given by the housekeeper, who gets demands from Sook Hyang. She is Myung Hee’s first daughter-in-law. Sook Hyang always had a motive to have her husband become the chairman of TS Group. Sook Hyang locked Myung Hee in this house and drugged her for three years so that Myung Hee wouldn’t get in the way of her making her husband become the CEO. Myung Hee has had enough of this imprisoned life, so she does not take the pill. Instead, she drugs her houseguards and runs away barefoot.

Hyo Sim gets assigned as Tae Ho’s morning personal trainer.
