As a K-Drama fan, I know we have all watched a show with love triangles, and it’s so frustrating to see when the second leads try to break up the main couple! I mean, why should we have annoying love triangles when we can have cute and wholesome second lead couples?

That’s why watching K-Dramas with second lead couples gives me a different kind of enjoyment because it saves me from the pain of experiencing second lead syndrome, and who wouldn’t want two couples in one drama?

It’s really great to see second lead couples being supportive, and lucky for us because there are a lot of K-Drama second lead couples! Now, let’s meet some of them!

Dan Ah and Yeong Hwa of “Run On”

Another second lead couple that we all love is Seo Dan Ah (Choi Soo Young) and Yeong Hwa (Kang Tae Oh) of the JTBC romance drama “Run On.”

Dan Ah and Yeong Hwa are not your ordinary couple. Dan Ah is that strong, crazy CEO, and Yeong Hwa is head over heels for her. They made us experience all kinds of emotions, from their exciting romance up to their heartbreaks, and we can’t deny how their contrasting personalities gave more flavor to the drama.

Da Hee and Jae Seok of “Once Again

A love story that raised the standards can be seen in the romantic family drama “Once Again.” Jae Seok (Lee Sang Yi) and Da Hee (Lee Cho Hee) portrayed the most realistic and romantic love story.

I am a big fan of these two because they are a perfect example of having a healthy relationship. Supportive Jae Seok and caring & understanding Da Hee are really perfect for one another. Their story is so relatable, that’s why they were loved both by Korean and International fans!

Veronica and Dae Joo of “The Secret Life of My Secretary

The cute and super sweet couple, the “awesome” Veronica Park (Kim Jae Kyung) and Ki Dae Joo (Koo Ja Sung) from the romantic comedy-drama “The Secret Life of My Secretary.” What makes this second lead special is how they have their own story! Their life does not revolve around the main leads.

The two are scene stealers, and I love the combination of a nice guy and a chaotic heiress. They have a very fun and refreshing storyline, and we can’t deny that these two made the drama more interesting!

Eun Tak and Ah Reum of “Dr. Romantic 2

I know when most of us watched the second season of the hit medical drama, “Dr. Romantic,” we wouldn’t expect to love Eun Tak’s (Kim Min Jae) new love interest, Jin Ah Reum (So Joo Yeon)! The two are scene stealers, and it’s great that they have a decent amount of screentime to showcase their chemistry.

Dr. Romantic 2” showed us a mature and different Eun Tak because he realized that he should act on his feelings before it’s too late. I know all of us are so happy because Eun Tak finally found his perfect pair, and we can’t deny how these two made us feel soft and warm for their lovely relationship.

Yeon Tae and Sang Min of “Five Enough

The best couple from the family romantic comedy-drama “Five Enough” is Yeon Tae (Shin Hae Sun) and Sang Min (Sung Hoon)! Even though they are not the main couple in the drama, everyone liked the love story of a model turned professional golfer and a shy elementary school teacher!

Sang Min & Yeon Tae are one of the cutest couples I have ever met, and it feels so great to witness their cute and lovely relationship from the beginning to the end!

Ha Kyung and Il Kwon of “Find Me in Your Memory

Next is Ha Kyung (Kim Seul Gi) and Il Kwon (Lee Jin Hyuk), the cute and adorable couple from the romantic drama “Find Me in Your Memory.”

Their tandem as a manager and junior reporter really captured our hearts! I super love their sweet gestures and cute height difference. They also have a fun and light vibe, which makes them so enjoyable to watch.

Joo Man and Seol Hee of “Fight For My Way

A classic 2nd lead couple we all know is (Ahn Jae Hong) and Seol Hee (Song Ha Yoon) of the romantic comedy-drama “Fight For My Way.” We learned a lot from this mature couple about life and relationships.

We saw how their love story blossomed and how they overcame difficulties in their relationship. It felt so great when Joo Man realized his mistake – that he should not take Seol Hee for granted.

Grim Reaper and Sunny of “Goblin”

Not all second lead couples have a happy ending, and we witnessed it with Wang Yo (Lee Dong Wook) and Kim Sun’s (Yoo In Na) story in the fantasy drama “Goblin.”

The two made us feel warm for their cute encounters then broke our hearts after discovering what happened in their past life. These two really made us experience a tragic love story that made us all cry.

It really feels great when the second lead couples don’t revolve around the main leads. I love it when they have their own introduction, story, and life. I know there are a lot of second lead couples that I haven’t mentioned, which couples are some of your faves? And remember you can fall in love with several of the cute cuddly second lead couples mentioned here, on KOCOWA!
