So Ji Sub is Back in K-Dramas
Our Favorite Ahjussi: So Ji Sub is officially back to K-Dramas after 4 years! We last saw him as the legendary secret agent of “My Secret, Terrius“.
He’s currently starring in the MBC drama “Doctor Lawyer” alongside Im Soo Hyang and Shin Sung Rok! A medical drama about a genius surgeon who became a lawyer and a prosecutor who work together to punish criminals!
The drama premiered last week, and as a fan of medical dramas and So Ji Sub, I am tuning in.
An Actor You Can Trust
So Ji Sub is that actor that you can trust. He’s one of those actors with an Excellence Award, Best Actor, and a Daesang (Grand Prize) in his name, so you will definitely look forward to his following projects.
Probably my favorite So Ji Sub dramas are the following: the fantasy, horror “Master’s Sun,“ romantic comedy “Oh My Venus,” and the mystery romance “My Secret, Terrius“. In these 3 dramas, So Ji Sub showed his versatility and how he’s one of the best actors of his generation. I highly recommend these three dramas!
“Master’s Sun“ is a horror romance drama written by Hong Sisters, who are known for their other popular dramas such as “My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho,” “Big,” and “Hotel Del Luna”. The drama is about a snobbish, greedy, stingy mall CEO who hires a depressed, jumpy female employee who can see ghosts.
It’s definitely one of the best K-Dramas ever, and it also gave us the So Ji Sub x Kong Hyo Jin pairing! A different kind of fantasy drama with an intriguing plot, superb acting, and one of the best chemistries! If you haven’t watched this drama, this is your sign to watch it!
Another favorite So Ji Sub drama of mine is the KBS drama “Oh My Venus,” in which he stars together with Shin Min A! It follows the story of Joo Eun, who used to be famous for her beauty in high school, and how she gained a lot of weight. After getting dumped by her boyfriend, she decides to lose weight with the help of John Kim, who is a famous personal trainer to Hollywood stars.
It was a well-written and well-executed romantic comedy-drama that has a beautiful message: that physical beauty isn’t everything. Shin Min A and So Ji Sub also had spectacular chemistry in this drama that you can’t help but feel single while watching them.
Another great So Ji Sub drama is the SBS “My Secret, Terrius,” which made him land a Daesang! A romance mystery drama about a single mother of two children and her mysterious good-looking neighbor who turned out to be a former NIS agent! The two become involved in a series of suspicious activities.
A one-of-a-kind K-Drama with the right amount of everything that will give you the best watching experience possible. I liked how it’s a story about a strong female lead, and So Ji Sub is so cute with the kids!
Medical Dramas You Might Enjoy
So Ji Sub’s upcoming K-Drama “Doctor Lawyer” is a medical drama that reminds me of my other fave dramas in this genre! Most of my favorite K-Dramas are those set in the medical field. To name a few, “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” “Partners for Justice,” “Good Doctor,” and “Dr. Romantic” are the best medical dramas that I have watched!
“It’s Okay, That’s Love” is not your ordinary medical drama. A god-tier K-Drama that tackles mental health and is well executed. It’s a romantic comedy between a psychiatrist and a famous writer. If you haven’t watched this drama, you are already missing a lot!
I highly recommend this extraordinary medical drama, the crime mystery thriller “Partners for Justice“. It follows the story of a forensic doctor and a prosecutor who work together to solve unique and different cases every episode! It’s really amazing because the drama perfectly combines mystery with medicine, that’s why every episode is so thrilling to watch! The drama also showed how they do actual autopsies!
Those who loved the American series “The Good Doctor” maybe didn’t know it was based on the Korean medical drama “Good Doctor“! It stars Joo Won and Moon Chae Won and follows the story of a surgical resident with autistic disorder and savant syndrome. It’s the definition of an excellent K-Drama because everything about this drama is so amazing.
Last but not least, everyone’s favorite medical drama: the “Dr. Romantic” series! It’s really one of the best or definitely the best medical drama that shows the struggle and life of doctors, nurses, and other hospital staff. One of the best things about this drama is you’ll get to meet Master Kim!
