Since we’re just a few days away from 2023, how about we talk about the best of the best K-drama friendships we’ve witnessed all throughout this year! One thing K-dramas are the best at is showing us genuine friendships that stay together through thick and thin!

As someone who has watched a lot of K-dramas this year, I have witnessed different kinds of friendships that started from being enemies, co-workers, teammates, classmates, neighbors, or those you met by chance, and all of them turned into something precious!

Weak Hero Class 1

Probably the friendship that struck me the most this 2022 is the trio of “Weak Hero Class 1.” I think we all know how precious high school friendships are and that’s what friendship is for Si Eun. As someone who didn’t get along with anyone, he met Soo Ho and Beom Seok who helped him see that life is still enjoyable however their friendship didn’t end quite well (watch the drama to know what I meant by that!)

“Twenty-Five Twenty-One”

The friendship between Na Hee Do and Ko Yu Rim in “Twenty Five Twenty One” is one of the most memorable relationships I’ve seen this year. Their friendship is one of the drama’s highlights because it features many of the cliches we’ve come to expect from kdrama couples. These include a childhood connection, sports rivals, anonymous online buddies, and much more.

Bad Prosecutor

The “Bad Prosecutor” squad was formed because of the chaotic prosecutor Jin Jung! It’s made up of prosecutors, an investigator, a hacker, and a gangster all teaming together to take down the bad guys. The team built trust among one another through shared experiences, thus they are now a reliable team.

“One Dollar Lawyer”

Another iconic K-drama trio is the “One Dollar Lawyer” comedic squad. From starting as co-workers, the three formed an unlikely friendship while solving cases. One of my favorite things about these three is they are so naturally funny and their chemistry is the best that you’ll just find yourself laughing watching them together.

Cheer Up

A favorite K-drama friendship with a big squad would be “Cheer Up!” The drama features a lot of characters from the Theia cheering squad + we get to see their journey from joining the team up to become great performers on the stage. Part of the training is also going on trips where they experience a lot of fun memories together!

“Business Proposal”

Aside from having the best couples, this drama also gave us amazing men’s and women’s friendships with the leads! What I like the most is we see Hari and Yeonseo’s dynamics as girl best friends who would do anything for each other! Same as Taemoo and Sunghoon who now treat each other as family!

The Law Cafe

This romantic comedy doesn’t only have the best couple Yuri and Jungho but also feature the high school squad comprises of a landlord, cafe owner, policewoman, and a chef! This squad has been together since high school and has supported each other through all of life’s important moments. P.S. The cute thing about this squad is it formed two couples!

“All Of Us Are Dead”

What makes this squad special is how they managed to protect each other from zombies. High school students that they were, they did their best to assist everyone and make sure nobody was left behind (even though some got bitten because of different circumstances).

“If You Wish Upon Me”

What I like about this squad is it comprises different people from different age groups since they all met in a hospice! They shared common interests and were at ease in each other’s company during their time there. They were each other’s catalysts for change.

Fanletter, Please

It’s rare to find a drama in which one of the main characters is a child, therefore the fact that one of the main characters in “Fanletter, Please” is a child makes me very happy. Yoona’s time spent in the hospital allows us to witness her developing touching relationships with a variety of sick kids. All of the kids are sensitive to Yoona’s sentiments and work hard to protect her from harm.

“Love All Play”

Another big favorite K-drama squad of mine is from the sports romance “Love All Play!” The whole Yunis badminton team might have misunderstood at first, but as they get to know Taeyang’s real story, they softened and formed an amazing bond while playing and training in badminton!

“Rookie Cops”

K-dramas set in universities really show amazing friendship just like how the Korean Police National University squad helped each other to achieve their dreams of becoming police officers in South Korea! What I love the most about them is we see them go on trips and help whenever one is feeling down. It’s their way of saying that they’ll always have each other’s back.

See, there are really a lot of amazing friendships formed in K-dramas this year and I’m so happy to witness it all. If ever you’re missing them, let’s all meet them by watching on KOCOWA!
