“The Marvels” is based on Marvel Comics and features beloved characters like Carol Danvers / Captain Marvel, Monica Rambeau, and Kamala Khan / Ms. Marvel. It serves as a sequel to the film “Captain Marvel” and continues the storyline introduced in the television miniseries “Ms. Marvel” (2022). This film is the 33rd installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) and is directed by Nia DaCosta, who co-wrote the screenplay with Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik.

This marks a significant milestone in Park Seo Jun’s career as it’s his Hollywood film debut, and it’s worth noting that not many Asian actors are allowed to star in Hollywood, let alone in a Marvel film. Surprisingly, Seo Jun’s journey to this role can be traced back to his 2019 K-drama “Itaewon Class.” Director Nia DaCosta was so impressed by Park Seo Jun’s performance in that K-drama that it sparked her interest in his other works. When offered the opportunity to direct “The Marvels,” she immediately thought of Park Seo Jun as the perfect fit for the role of Prince Yan.

As the November 10th premiere date approaches, we’re eagerly looking forward to seeing Park Seo Jun embody the charismatic leader, Prince Yan, on the big screen.
