Now, let’s take a closer look at our beloved and iconic female characters in K-Dramas!

One of my favorite female K-Drama characters last year is the badass softie, Kim Yu Ri of “The Law Cafe.” As a lawyer, she forwent the traditional path of working at a firm and instead chose to open a cafe that offers legal advice for the price of a cup of coffee, making the law more accessible to everyone.
Yu Ri is the epitome of a character who refuses to back down because she knows what she wants and will fight for what she knows is right. Her strength and softness are perfectly balanced, making her an unforgettable character.
Goo Se Ra of “Into the Ring“
In a male-dominated workplace, a woman who fearlessly asserts herself is the very definition of a true badass, and that is exactly what Go Se Ra embodies in “Into the Ring“. Se Ra’s love and concern for her community are what drove her to run for office and ultimately win the election. Despite the lack of financial gain and the constant discrimination, she faces from her male colleagues, she remains committed to being an excellent public servant.
She faced numerous failures, but this didn’t stop her from seeking out new opportunities. Her righteousness, together with her kind-heartedness, makes her one of my favorite characters ever.

Oh Mi Joo from “Run On” is a breath of fresh air in the world of K-Drama, breaking down the stereotypes that women are weak and must rely on male leads for protection. Despite growing up alone, Mi Joo has become a fiercely independent and empathetic character, unafraid to speak her mind and assert herself in a male-dominated industry.
