Finally! The long wait is over. After waiting for almost two years, Park Bo Gum has officially finished his mandatory military service.

To those new to this, South Korea has a mandatory military enlistment. All Korean able-bodied men between 18 and 29 must serve in the country’s military for about 20 months. Yes, even famous personalities such as idols and actors need to do it! I know I’m not the only one who missed Park Bo Gum when he was away, so let’s welcome back our favorite actor!

Last 2020, Park Bo Gum enlisted in the navy military band as a cultural promotion soldier as part of his mandatory military service and was scheduled to be discharged in 2022.

AND NOW HE IS OFFICIALLY BACK!

Park Bo Gum is one of our first loves in K-Dramas, right? He gained recognition for his diverse roles in film and television, making him a household name in South Korea and a worldwide star! He was the youngest actor named Gallup Korea’s Television Actor of the Year and the first-ever actor to top the Korea Power Celebrity list by Forbes Korea.

I have watched multiple Park Bo Gum K-Dramas, and we can’t deny how great an actor he is. The drama that made me fall in love with Park Bo Gum was when he starred as Choi Taek, a genius, and cute, Go Player, in the slice of life K-Drama “Reply 1988.” Then, Bo Gum starred as Joseon Crown Prince Lee Yeong in the KBS historical romance “Love in the Moonlight, ” which solidified my love for him.

One of the reasons why the historical romance “Love in the Moonlight” is my favorite Park Bo Gum K-Drama is because of his brilliant acting. Starring as a crown prince, he expressed a wide range of emotions which made him win a lot of excellence in acting awards. I also enjoyed his next-level chemistry with the female lead, Kim You Jung!

This is a must-watch drama for those who haven’t watched “Love in the Moonlight“! It is a historical political-romance between a crown prince who falls in love with a eunuch pretending to be a man! It’s an unforgettable, romantic palace adventure.

Park Bo Gum is also a fantastic host. He has hosted a lot of award and year-end ceremonies such as the “Baeksang Arts Awards” and “Music Bank K-Chart” alongside Red Velvet’s Irene last 2016. The two are considered legendary MCs of Music Bank, where fans don’t just watch the music show for the performing idols but also for the MCs!

The two have hosted a lot of “Music Bank K-Chart” special overseas episodes together, such as “Music Bank K-Chart in Singapore” and “Music Bank K-Chart in Jakarta.” He also co-hosted “Music Bank K-Chart in Berlin” and “Music Bank K-Chart in Hong Kong” together with famous Korean stars.

And here’s an enjoyable fact about Park Bo Gum as “Music Bank K-Chart” host. He appeared in the romantic comedy “THE Producers” as himself, an MC of Music Bank! The K-Drama’s concept is about people working at a South Korean public TV station, and the female lead (Gong Hyo Jin) is the PD of “Music Bank” in the series! It’s fantastic to see MC Bo Gum with IU, acting as an idol in the drama.

And did you know that Park Bo Gum is such a fantastic singer and pianist? He once guested in “Yu Huiyeol’s Sketchbook” episode 483, where he talked about his life and how he initially wanted to be a singer.

Everyone was in awe of Bo Gum’s talent when he sang and played the piano on the spot. He even received compliments from veteran singers Yu Huiyeol and Lee Seung Chul! We really can’t deny that Park Bo Gum is charming and talented.

Park Bo Gum really has the looks, talent – EVERYTHING! I can’t wait to meet him again in his upcoming dramas, films, and variety shows! While waiting, let’s learn more about Park Bo Gum by subscribing and watching his shows on KOCOWA!
