4 Reasons Why “Bloody Flower” Is the Best K-Drama as of the Moment
A one-of-a-kind plot you haven’t seen before: A medical dropout student claiming he found the cure for all incurable diseases

The biggest reason why I became so curious about this series is after reading the synopsis. What do you mean a medical student found a cure for all incurable diseases like cancer? Doesn’t that immediately make you intrigued?
Meet Lee Woo Gyeom. His character was introduced in a very shocking situation where he was caught in the act by the righteous prosecutor, Cha Yi Yeon, while using a human as his test subject for the cure he discovered. After searching his place, authorities found out that he not only planned to murder that person, but had already killed many others, with human organs and bones scattered throughout his laboratory. While being investigated, he claimed that he did not murder anyone because the number of people he could save was far greater than the number of people he had killed.
The series then focuses on his trial, where he is defended by the lawyer Park Han Joon, not because he wants to, but because he believes Lee Woo Gyeom might be able to cure his daughter who is battling Batten Disease. Day by day, he watches his daughter’s health deteriorate, and they can no longer afford to wait, so he does everything he can to prove his client’s healing abilities. However, this is not easy, as prosecutor Cha Yi Yeon is determined to have Lee Woo Gyeom sentenced to death. This creates a very intense and thrilling courtroom drama.
A Drama that Makes you Question your Morals

“Bloody Flower” revolves around a very heavy question. Would you save a murderer who used humans as test subjects if it meant saving your dying loved one? Or would you let him be punished even if it meant losing someone precious to you?
This drama perfectly shows this dilemma. At first, when the case was revealed to the public, most people wanted him to receive the death penalty. However, as Lee Woo Gyeom proves that he can truly heal incurable diseases, public opinion slowly changes, and more people begin lining up to be treated by him. It is really the kind of drama that makes you think deeply. The drama also makes sure to humanize Lee Woo Gyeom because the people he killed were not entirely innocent, but criminals who were released with only minor punishment.
Fast-Paced Show That Will Make You Feel Hooked

What I love most about this show is that I initially thought the entire series would focus only on Lee Woo Gyeom’s trial or whether he could truly save people. But the drama does not drag the story at all. They already reveal the answers about his healing ability and the outcome of the trial early on, without stretching it too long.
By the end of episode 4, the story shifts into a new direction because the trial has concluded, and the drama begins to focus on the people behind Lee Woo Gyeom and the mysteries surrounding him. New characters are also introduced, including the person who helped him while he was in a coma, a medical center CEO, and several others who make the plot even more interesting. Every episode feels intriguing and jaw dropping, making it hard not to click the next one.
Doesn’t Disappoint in the Acting Department

Can a series truly be great without strong acting? “Bloody Flower” would not be this amazing without its talented cast. Ryeo Un perfectly embodies his role as a complex psychopath who discovered the cure, giving off a chilling vibe whenever he smiles or smirks. He has a cold and unreadable aura that keeps you guessing what he is thinking or planning next.
Sung Dong Il delivers a powerful performance as a father willing to go to extreme lengths for his daughter. You can truly feel the pain and desperation he carries. Meanwhile, Keum Sae Rok shows what it means to be a strong female lead who stands firm and never backs down, even against her superiors.
