9.9 billion could change one’s life drastically indeed, and it is especially so to Jung Seo-Yeon (Cho Yeo-Jeong)–it even gives her the will to continue living on.

Jung Seo-Yeon’s life is sad and miserable. She has an abusive husband, played by Jung Woong-In, who takes it out on her when things do not go well, the man that she has an affair with, played by Lee Ji-Hoon, probably does not care about her genuinely, and her only friend–the man’s wife, played by Oh Na-Ra–befriended her only because she wanted to know why Seo-Yeon was indifferent towards her after finding out she was rich.

Seeing no escape from her current predicament, Seo-Yeon wants to throw everything aside and take her own life. But she encounters an unfortunate car accident, which is a fortunate thing to her. Two strangers are involved in the car accident–one had died before she came, but she found the other still breathing and conscious when she arrived. Instinctively, she would call the ambulance so that the stranger gets the medical attention that he needed as soon as possible.

There is just this one thing that is stopping her from doing it–she found boxes, filled with wads of cash, surrounding the car that got into an accident. Holding onto her phone, Seo-Yeon watched the man breathe his last breath without doing anything else.

It is unknown to her where the boxes of money came from, but she does not care. All she knows is that the huge amount of money could change her life completely. But if that man survived, she would probably lose possession of the money and so she did it–she chose to save her own life over someone else’s.

Seo-Yeon is well aware that the original owners might find her and she would have to return to leading that terrible life again. Or things could even turn out worse than she could ever imagine because she has no idea how powerful are the people she might be dealing with. Still, it is a glimmer of hope to her and her only (possibly, last) chance to have another go at life.

Unfortunately for her, the death of that man leads another person to come looking for her–his older brother Kang Tae-Woo, played by Kim Kang-Woo. Though Kang Tae-Woo was dismissed as a cop after being accused of bribery and lives life seemingly without a purpose now, he still has enough experience and the ability to investigate things on his own. With the original owners of the money working together with Kang Tae-Woo, it seems that Seo-Yeon is highly unlikely to get away with this.

Would 9.9 billion won change Seo-Yeon’s life for the better or the worse?
