Everything That Happened in “Recipe For Love” Episodes 39 and 40

Here are the highlights of episodes 39 & 40 of “Recipe For Love” starring Jin Se Yun and Park Ki Woong.

Jeong Han receives a mysterious phone booth call from a man claiming he may have lost his memories. Before he can process what he’s hearing, the woman who has been caring for him snatches the phone and abruptly ends the conversation. Once they return home, she insists that he fell from a chair years ago, lost all his memories, and has no family other than her. She repeatedly pressures him to take his medication, making Jeong Han question what is real and what isn’t.

Meanwhile, Seong Mi gathers everyone together in hopes of resolving years of misunderstandings. Se Ri finally learns that Seong Mi was never Dong Ik’s ex-girlfriend as she had believed all along. Completely caught off guard, Seong Mi explains that she had never even met Dong Ik before. Dong Ik then admits that he fell for Seong Mi at first sight, but she ultimately fell in love with Jeong Han and married him. Hearing the truth directly from Dong Ik helps untangle the doubts that have weighed on Se Ri’s heart for so long. In a surprising turn, Se Ri even agrees to begin couples counseling with Dong Ik under Seong Mi’s guidance.
Elsewhere, Jun Hyeok’s true identity is revealed. News spreads quickly that he is Tae An’s biological son, instantly making him the center of attention as the newly discovered chaebol heir.
After the strange phone booth call, Jeong Han and Dae Han become even more determined to find their father. While posting missing-person flyers, they catch several men removing them. After questioning them, they discover that someone from a local dry cleaner paid them to take the flyers down. The clue leads Jeong Han and Dae Han to review surveillance footage at the police station, where they make a shocking discovery. The man who called from the phone booth was indeed their father, and the woman who took him away was someone their late mother had known for decades.

For 30 years, Mi Hyang had visited Sun Hae’s pharmacy and gradually earned her trust. She even gifted Sun Hae a handmade vest, claiming it came from her cousin. That “cousin,” however, turns out to be none other than Sun Hae’s missing husband.
Jun Hyeok is still reeling from the revelation that the chairman of the company is his biological father. Tragically, only days after learning the truth, his father passes away. At the funeral, Hyun Bin and Ju Ah cross paths once again. This time, Hyun Bin sincerely asks her to reconsider leaving the company.
As Dong Ik and Se Ri begin couples therapy, Seong Mi becomes an unexpected bridge between them. Through honest conversations and difficult self-reflection, the hostility that once defined their relationship slowly begins to fade. Over time, Se Ri finds herself growing closer to Seong Mi, someone she once viewed as her rival.
Meanwhile, Ju Ah seriously considers the business proposal Hyun Bin presented to her. Although Hyun Bin assures her that his offer is strictly professional, Ju Ah carefully weighs the opportunity for the sake of her career. The two eventually agree to become business partners, even signing a prenuptial agreement to ensure their arrangement remains free of personal complications.

After a lengthy investigation, the police finally obtain a warrant for Mi Hyang’s arrest. Unfortunately, they are a step too late. Mi Hyang attempts to flee the country with Jeong Han’s father. While waiting at a traffic light, however, he seizes his chance and escapes from the vehicle. Mi Hyang desperately chases after him but ultimately loses sight of him. He immediately seeks help from the police, and at long last, Jeong Han and Dae Han are reunited with their father after 30 painful years apart.

Jun Hyeok begins carving out his own path within the company after learning he is the chairman’s son. Hye Soo, Hyun Bin, and everyone around him are left stunned by the unexpected turn of events.
The search for Mi Hyang intensifies as the family seeks justice against the woman who shattered their lives and kept them apart for three decades.
And finally, after countless obstacles and years of waiting, Dong Sook and Dae Han officially become husband and wife.
