The Game: Towards Zero” has begun airing right after “Love With Flaws” ended! It has been 2 weeks since it aired. Have you started watching the drama?

Kim Tae-Pyung (Played by Ok Taec-Yeon)

27 years old, has an ability to see people’s deaths.

Kim Tae-Pyung seems like a cheerful and positive man on the exterior, but deep inside, he feels lonely because of his mysterious ability. He has an ability to see the moment right before someone dies. The man sees the end of someone’s life first before even knowing that person and his own death is no exception too.

But there is one person’s death that he could not see, Seo Joon-Young. She is the only person that lets him see her facial expressions first without witnessing her death. However, Tae-Pyung’s fears slowly grow–He could see everyone’s death, why not hers?

Seo Joon-Young (Played by Lee Yeon-Hee)

30 years old, detective.

Seo Joon-Young is a strong lady who has a lot of patience and is passionate about her work. Her father’s death 20 years ago had made her go through hard times during her childhood. Joon-Young is an independent woman who does not depend on anyone. She begins to change that little by little after meeting Kim Tae-Pyung.

Koo Do-Kyung (Played by Lim Ju-Hwan)

33 years old, a medical examiner.

He is nicknamed “4 weeks” because of how he will only provide autopsy results after 4 weeks no matter what. He always seems relaxed, but he is a meticulous person who follows through with everything thoroughly. Perfectionist Do-Kyung will never close a case if it has not been concluded.

The thing is, Do-Kyung changes whenever Joon-Young is around. He is usually calm and collected but he smiles uncontrollably when he is with her.

The story so far… (Possible spoilers!)

With just 8 episodes episodes aired, the drama is still in the midst of fleshing out its story. But is this drama truly a must-watch?

It does seem a little difficult to tell if the drama is going to take an amazing turn–things have been rather predictable with its characters and storyline for now.

We have a male lead, Kim Tae-Pyung, with supernatural powers that can help him see everyone’s impending moment of death through their eyes, which distresses him every time he sees it. For some reason, however, Tae-Pyung’s powers do not work on the female lead, Seo Joon-Young, and he finds peace whenever he is with her.

Later on, we find that Tae-Pyung’s predictions are always accurate, but he manages to twist fate and prolong someone’s life if he works with Joon-Young.

The main plot does seem to be easy to guess so far, doesn’t it? Here is just one more thing.

The main villain of the story (Could there be another twist?), Koo Do-Kyung, is played by a prominent and well-known actor–Lim Ju-Hwan. The actor has recognized acting skills as a villain, but the suspense for this character can be killed rather quickly because of how famous of an actor he is (we can guess how much weight that character holds in the story!).

Still, many dramas had relied on predictable plotlines in the beginning but they ended with a bang. It could be intriguing to watch how the main characters solve their cases with unanticipated twists hidden in every corner, or the drama could be just another detective series with some supernatural elements added to the mix. We will have to wait and see!

What do you think?
