Each year, we eagerly await the arrival of the new wave of K-dramas, which introduce us to fresh faces that quickly capture our hearts. These rising stars might even earn the titles of “K-drama heartthrobs of the month” or even the year, depending on the popularity of their shows. However, when we watch a K-drama featuring these seasoned Korean actors, who have been in the industry for decades, there is a unanimous sentiment that no one can replace them in our hearts. We can all agree that their talent and charisma are only getting better with time.

Zo In Sung

At 42 years old, Zo In Sung stands as one of the most adored and attractive actors of this time. Many can’t forget his captivating portrayal of Kim Doo Shik in “Moving,” which won the hearts of the younger generation. However, Zo In Sung had already captured our hearts with his roles in “The Great Battle,” “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” and “Something Happened in Bali.”

What sets Zo In Sung apart is that, although he may not have an extensive K-drama portfolio, each project he takes on is undeniably exceptional. His filmography speaks for itself, with all of his dramas leaving a lasting impact. “It’s Okay, That’s Love” remains a timeless addition to my list of all-time favorite K-dramas. Zo In Sung is an actor we can wholeheartedly trust with his projects, and let’s not forget that he possesses a face that’s impossible to tire of – he’s incredibly good-looking!

Gong Yoo

Born in 1979, Gong Yoo epitomizes the phrase “aging like fine wine.” He’s not the kind of actor you’ll find gracing our screens every year, and that’s precisely what makes his performances extraordinary. Gong Yoo is that rare gem in the acting world, capable of immersing us in his roles every time we watch one of his movies or dramas. From his zombie-fighting skills in “Train to Busan” to his swoon-worthy Goblin character in the hit series, and the charming coffee shop owner in “Coffee Prince,” he has taken the K-drama and film industry by storm.

Namkoong Min

Namkoong Min, one of my all-time favorite actors, now at the age of 45, possesses both exceptional talent and a beloved face. Having been active in the industry for two decades, he made a name for himself as the villain in “The Girl Who Sees Smell” and “Remember!” Since then, he has consistently delivered exceptional performances across various drama genres. If you were to ask me to choose a favorite among his K-dramas, I’d be at a loss between “Stove League,” “Doctor Prisoner,” or “The Veil” because all of his dramas are incredibly compelling.

By the way, don’t forget that Part 2 of his historical melodrama with Ahn Eun Jin, “My Dearest,” is premiering this week. If you want to refresh your memory of Part 1, you can watch it on KOCOWA+ while eagerly awaiting Part 2!

Hyun Bin

Hyun Bin is undeniably one of the finest actors alive, and I’m sure many would agree. Now 41 years old, Hyun Bin has become everyone’s favorite ever since he brought to life our favorite K-drama character Ri Jeong Hyeok of “Crash Landing On You!” However, his popularity didn’t begin there; we’ve all cherished his past K-dramas such as “Secret Garden,” “Hyde, Jekyll, Me,” and “My Lovely Sam Soon.” Hyun Bin is the kind of actor who doesn’t need to star in a new K-drama every year, but when he does, he undeniably reclaims his spot as a leading actor.

Lee Joon Gi

Lee Joon Gi is one of those actors who defies expectations of being in his 40s because seriously, how is he already 41 years old? He’s an extraordinary actor who has mastered various genres, from fantasy in “The Scholar Who Walks The Night” to thriller in “Flower of Evil,” and action in “Two Weeks,” among many others. Lee Joon Gi possesses an innate charm that allows us to fall in love with every character he portrays.

Lee Dong Wook

Lee Dong Wook, now 41 years old, seems almost unreal due to his extraordinary good looks. He has a natural aura that makes his performances feel genuine and uncontrived. Lee Dong Wook fearlessly ventures beyond his typical roles, as evidenced by his projects such as “The Fugitive of Joseon,” “Tale of the Nine-Tailed,” and “Bad and Crazy.”

Ji Sung

At 46 years old, Ji Sung stands as one of the finest actors of our generation. He doesn’t just possess the remarkable talent to completely embody his characters; he exudes a sexy aura and appeal that’s hard to resist. If you’ve seen him in “Adamas,” “Defendant,” or “Doctor John,” you’ll understand exactly what I mean.

Won Bin

Only long-time K-drama fans might remember Won Bin because it’s been years since he last graced our screens in a K-drama or film. Nevertheless, he remains immensely popular in South Korea and continues to be featured in numerous advertisements. Won Bin’s unforgettable face is something to behold. He shot to stardom with his role as the second lead in “Autumn in My Heart” and maintained his momentum with “Mother” and “The Man from Nowhere.” Now at 45 years old, we are all eagerly awaiting his next project, knowing that he’ll once again capture our hearts with his performance.

Which of these Korean actors, who are aging like fine wine, is your favorite? Let’s all enjoy their dramas and films available on KOCOWA+!
