Actress Kim Ye Ri is back with “Azure Spring!”
Yes, Red Velvet’s Yeri returns in a new webtoon-based human K-Drama as a former national youth athlete turned haenyeo, or female diver. Joining her is Kim Sang Jun, who plays a former special forces soldier stuck in the past and unable to move forward, who later becomes a haenam, or male diver.

Haenyeo refers to women divers, while haenam refers to men divers. It is not common to see these kinds of jobs at the center of a K-Drama, which makes this story even more interesting. As they spend more time in the sea, they begin to realize that there is more to life, regain their sense of purpose, and find comfort in the ocean.
