Rising to Fame: Introducing Ahn Bo Hyun

Ahn Bo Hyun has always caught my attention since his appearance in the 2016 hit series “Descendants of the Sun.” Not everyone noticed him then but recently, after the big hits of “My Name” and “Yumi’s Cells,” he is now known as one of the most wanted and highly respected actors. Not being biased, but I do think he is almost perfect…!!

He was born on May 16, 1988, in Busan but moved to Seoul to become a model in 2007. Would you guys ever guess that he started his career as a model? And that’s where his looks and physique comes from. I mean, there are many actors who were once models like Kim Woo Bin, Nam Ju Hyuk, Lee Jong Suk, and recently Jung Ho Yeon, and these models definitely know how to act! 

However, Ahn Bo Hyun didn’t initially want to become a model. He once said that his perseverance and physical strength come from his boxing career in school, which became a great foundation for becoming an actor. He was a boxer but was always insecure whether or not acting was something he could do for a living. So it was recommended that he become a model, but he actually wanted to act more than model.

Gradually, after becoming a model, he shifted his career to becoming an actor. He was in “Descendants of the Sun,” “Kairos,” and played various roles to prove that he is a versatile actor.
