Just days after his thirtieth birthday, Shownu of Monsta X plans to start his mandatory military service. The leader of the Starship Entertainment boy group is scheduled to serve as a public service worker due to his past retinal detachment and shoulder injury.  Shownu recently shared a heartfelt goodbye message, which was uploaded on Monsta X’s online fan cafe, showing his sincere gratitude to fans with a promise to repay their love in the future. Monsta X fans, who are affectionately called Monbebe, have been religiously following Shownu and his band since 2015. They are incredibly reluctant to part from him for the long span of eighteen months, but there are plenty of fun things to do to honor Shownu in his absence.

Here are programs you can watch on KOCOWA featuring the treasured boy band member.

“Running Man Classics”

He joined this lively cast as a contestant in 2016. It was literally all fun and games for Shownu and the star-studded host and guests. This particular still was a special episode featuring the legendary girl group SISTAR.

“The King of Mask Singer”

Do you adore the classic drama “Princess Hours?” Then, you’re guaranteed to love Shownu’s cover of the single “Perhaps Love” from the drama’s original soundtrack. During his time on “The King of The Mask Singer,” he mesmerized the studio audience and television viewers with his smooth vocals. Shownu was even joined by a gifted female vocalist for the touching duet. (Did you guess her identity correctly prior to being unmasked?) He performed on “The King of Mask Singer” in 2018, and episode 137 is where you can witness his great performance.

“The Real Men 300”

The same year he appeared on “The King of Mask Singer, ” he also joined the cast of  “The Real Men 300.” It was evident that he was a passionate member of the team during his time on the program. He remained one-hundred percent dedicated to doing well. However, Shownu actually overexerted himself by sustaining a shoulder injury in the middle of training.  Episode 12 is when the unfortunate accident occurred, and fans started sending positive energy his way for a speedy recovery.

“My Little Television 2”

The following year, the idol star invited viewers into his private gym through “My Little Television 2.” The dual online streaming and variety program proved to be a very entertaining production for Shownu. Episode one delivers plenty of laughs for those who are brand new to the show.  The fun and some awkward messages left the singer a little baffled.
