New K-Drama Alert! There’s an upcoming KBS family weekend drama that has a cast of legendary actors and is written by a top writer who received the Presidential Citation at the 2021 Korea Content Awards!

Yoon Si Yoon, Bae Da Bin, Oh Min Suk, Shin Dong Mi, Choi Ye Bin, Seo Bum Jun, Park In Hwan, and more are starring in a new KBS weekend drama that everyone will surely love!

I have watched a lot of K-Dramas, but when it comes to family dramas, no one is on the same level as KBS weekend dramas! If you watched “Once Again,” “My Golden Life,” “My Father is Strange,” and “My Husband Got a Family,” then I think you would love “It’s Beautiful Now.”

Why You Should Watch “It’s Beautiful Now”

So here’s everything you need to know about the drama!

1. The Creators

“It’s Beautiful Now” is the first-weekend drama of writer Ha Myung Hee (“Doctors,” “Love Temperature,” “High Society“) who recently received the Presidential Citation at the 2021 Korea Content Awards for her drama “Record of Youth” and Director Kim Seong Geun (The Great King Sejong).

It will start airing on April 2, after the hit family romance “Young Lady and Gentleman,” and will be available for streaming on KOCOWA!

2. The Realistic But Enjoyable Plot

The drama will contain realistic stories of the current generation that avoids dating and marriage and will talk about what is the real meaning of family. It is a marriage project drama depicting the process of finding a partner.

Just like most of the KBS weekend dramas, “It’s Beautiful Now” focuses on one family which is the Lee Family, comprised of grandfather Lee Kyeong Cheol (Park In Hwan) and his three grandchildren: Lee Hyun Jae (Yoon Si Yoon), Lee Yun Jae (Oh Min Suk), and Lee Soo Jae (Seo Bum Jun)!

The Lee Family

“It’s Beautiful Now” will follow the story of the Lee Brothers who don’t want to get married, so their grandfather and parents decide to give an apartment to the son who will marry first within the next six months!

What these three brothers have in common is that they have a strong desire to win. Even if they are not interested in marriage and do not need an apartment, their flames are ignited by a tremendous desire to compete. The plot seems so interesting, and now I’m looking forward to knowing what happens next!

3. The Actors and Actresses

Yoon Si Yoon (“Best Punch,” “The Nokdu Flower“) will play the main character, Lee Hyun Jae. He is the middle brother of the Lee family and a divorce lawyer with a high win rate. Bae Da Bin (“Do You Like Brahms?,” “Less Than Evil) will play the role of Hyun Mi Rae, a VIP personal shopper who is seeking an annulment after getting caught up in a marriage fraud scheme!

The eldest brother, Lee Yun Jae, will be played by Oh Min Suk (“Cheat On Me, If You Can,” “Beautiful Love, Wonderful Life“). He will play the role of a meticulous dentist who has a good reputation. Shin Dong Mi (“Doctor John,” “Liver or Die“) will play lawyer Shim Hae Jun who has a crush on Yun Jae.

Seo Beom Jun takes on the role of the youngest brother, Lee Soo Jae, who is preparing for the civil service exam. While working at his part-time job, he met Choi Ye Bin’s (“The Penthouse“) character Na Yu Na, who dreams of becoming a patissier and is saving money to go to Tokyo.

Now that we met the three couples, I’m getting curious about who will be the first one to get married and get that apartment!

4. The Theme

The production team described “It’s Beautiful Now” as a work that started out of a question about the age of dating and marriage and that it is a traditional weekend drama that is rare to find nowadays.

This drama will be relatable to the viewers because it deals with themes like filial piety, which our society needs, family love, and marriage. They said to look forward to a fun wedding project that will unfold as various values and lives collide in the drama!

I don’t know where to put my finger.. Whether I like it or not… It’s confusing for the first time in my life of watching so many k-dramas, this is the first time I have a very mixed review.
Basically, the drama is ugly things including the not so important cast such as the technically gold-digger wife asking for divorce cz her husband has “fabricated” academics and a child from past, starts to date the attorney who is dating for an apartment in return.
It’s a topsy-turvy of relationships if you watch carefully specially the married elders and their attitude towards marriage and relationship so basically , if the Production team deems it good then it is good but the very same thing in a different scenario or from the opposite gender would be considered despicable at the very same time.
In short, very “polished” Drama where things are made to look un-twisted, clean and honest. One time watch at the most.
