Mi Ja is furious seeing Do Ra and Pil Seung together. Swiftly, Do Ra diffused the tension by ushering Pil Seung away and confessing to Mi Ja that they were indeed a couple, emphasizing her prior interest in him. With a rush of emotions, Mi Ja dashed to Pil Seung’s residence and confronted Sun Young, asserting that her son’s involvement with Do Ra must harbor ulterior motives. Sun Young, taken aback, recalled Mi Ja’s past actions towards her father. Pil Seung, in a moment of reflection, recalled the struggles his parents endured since his grandfather’s passing. Overwhelmed, he apologized profusely before storming out. Later, burdened by his family’s history, Pil Seung reached a breaking point and implored Do Ra to end their relationship. Pil Seung coldly insisted she leave him.

Pil Seung earnestly elucidates to Sun Young the necessity of his decision in such a predicament. Though genuinely invested in his relationship with Do Ra, he acknowledges the deep-seated animosity between their families, recognizing the unbearable barrier it poses to their future together.

Do Ra, utterly perplexed by Pil Seung’s behavior, attempts to reach out to him to no answers. Frustrated, she decides to visit his home, only to discover the aftermath of her mother Mi Ja’s disruptive intrusion the previous day. To her dismay, she learns of Mi Ja’s past behaviors, including seducing Pil Seung’s grandfather for financial gain, ultimately leading to his death. Suddenly, Do Ra comprehends the reasons behind her tumultuous childhood and the necessity of her previous escape from home.
Filled with remorse, Do Ra humbly approaches Sun Young, kneeling before her to offer a heartfelt apology for her mother’s misdeeds. In this moment of revelation, Do Ra realizes the complexities of her situation—why Pil Seung initially rejected her affections and why his family treated her with such aloofness. Everything falls into place, yet the puzzle of her past actions and their consequences weighs heavily on her heart.

Mi Ja finds herself entangled in the aftermath of her giving false romantic hope to Jin Dan, as she works to rectify the mess she created. Meanwhile, Sun Young observes her son’s anguish over the breakup and despite her reservations about the relationship, she can’t help but feel concerned for his well-being. Witnessing Pil Seung’s daily tears, Sun Young grapples with her inability to fully support her son’s romantic endeavors. After much contemplation, she finally musters the courage to offer Pil Seung permission to pursue Do Ra once again.
However, Pil Seung surprises Sun Young by declaring that he has moved on, though in truth, he is merely suppressing his true feelings. Determined to facilitate reconciliation, Sun Young orchestrates a meeting between Pil Seung and Do Ra. She arranges for them to meet at the tteokbokki spot frequented by Pil Seung and herself, but when the moment arrives, she discreetly sends Pil Seung to her place.
As Pil Seung and Do Ra reunite, their embrace is filled with tears, conveying the depth of their emotions as they cling tightly to one another, finally finding solace in each other’s arms.

Jin Dan is halting all the commercial contracts Do Ra had planned because he couldn’t win Do Ra’s heart. Mi Ja has ruined her daughter’s career by using her money and borrowing money from people under Do Ra’s fame. Jin Dan discovers everything about this situation and blackmails Mi Ja. Mi Ja devises a devious plan and deceives Do Ra into believing that she has an unplanned photo shoot. Mi Ja drives Do Ra to a luxurious, private house, instructing her to enter first and promising to follow soon after, ultimately abandoning her. Little did Do Ra know that Jin Dan awaited her inside the house. Mi Ja has deceived her daughter and arranged this unsettling encounter, hoping Do Ra will open her heart to Jin Dan. If she does not comply, Jin Dan will cease all of Do Ra’s upcoming dramas and commercials, which spells trouble for Mi Ja, who is indebted to numerous individuals.

Do Ra is incredibly surprised to find Jin Dan there, without even her bag or phone in hand. Attempting to flee, Do Ra is stopped by Jin Dan, who insists that the entire setup was orchestrated by her mother, not him, and encourages her to relax and be at ease. Jin Dan then confines her to a room until she is willing to converse with him. Eventually, Do Ra relents and convinces Jin Dan to unlock the door. Requesting food, Do Ra seizes the opportunity to escape. Finding a stranger to borrow a phone, she promptly calls Pil Seung.
Reflecting on the situation, Do Ra realizes she has consistently worked in favor of her greedy mother, who prioritizes money above all else. Even when Do Ra is unwell, Mi Ja compels her to work. Now, despite knowing Do Ra’s aversion to Jin Dan, Mi Ja callously sends her daughter to be with him.

After returning home, Do Ra informs Mi Ja that she wants nothing to do with her and intends to leave the house immediately. The following day, as Do Ra prepares to depart, a group of men enters the home to enforce an order related to Mi Ja’s debt. Do Ra discovers that all her properties are under a 90% mortgage, leaving her with nothing in her bank account and additional debt looming over her. She learns that her mother misused the money due to her gambling habits. Desperate, Mi Ja implores Do Ra to meet with Jin Dan, assuring her that he will handle everything if she gives him a chance.

Pil Seung comforts Do Ra by remaining by her side and offering his support. However, when Do Ra discovers that she needs to pay penalty fees for all the contracted commercials, amounting to about 10 million dollars, she reaches her breaking point. Mi Ja even suggests that Do Ra participate in a nude shoot that would guarantee her 2 million dollars. Pil Seung is incensed by the notion that Do Ra would sacrifice her self-esteem for money. With no alternative, Do Ra delivers harsh words to Pil Seung, instructing him to leave if he cannot provide her the 2 million dollars that she desperately needs.
