But for Se Ri, family has never been defined that way. She tearfully explains that every member of the household, especially Eun Bin and Hyun Bin, is a precious child she loves wholeheartedly.
- Meanwhile, Seong Mi makes the difficult decision to temporarily step away from her psychology clinic to focus on treatment and recovery. Accepting that she can no longer keep pushing herself, she also tells Hyun Bin that she won’t be able to continue helping with the company project for the time being. As Hyun Bin quietly helps her pack up and leave the office, the emotional weight of the moment lingers heavily between them.
- Elsewhere, Jeong Han and Dae Han continue searching for their biological father after learning that Sun Hae once tried and failed to find him herself. Using an old photograph as their only clue, the brothers turn to AI technology to generate an image of what he might look like today. Their search eventually leads them to what they believe could be his workplace at a local cleaners, but just as hope begins to build, they discover the shop has already closed down and the owner has moved away.
- Se Ri’s past also begins catching up to her in ways she can no longer avoid. After unexpectedly running into the mysterious man from the tteokbokki restaurant once again, Se Ri confronts him directly and hands him money, making it clear she wants him to stay out of her life and pretend not to know her if they ever cross paths again. Though he agrees, he asks one final question that leaves Se Ri visibly shaken: what happened to the child she was carrying with Jong Pil before his death? In an attempt to bury the truth, Se Ri coldly claims she had an abortion. But the moment she returns home, panic immediately consumes her. Afraid her secrets may resurface, she desperately searches for the hidden photograph connected to her past, only to realize Eun Bin had already thrown it away after discovering how much Se Ri cared for their family.
- Meanwhile, Jeong Han and Dong Ik’s documentary officially begins airing, but the broadcast unexpectedly stirs up buried memories for someone watching from afar. A man at a laundry shop becomes emotional while watching the program, telling his wife that fragments of his forgotten past are slowly returning to him. But instead of reacting with relief, his wife suddenly becomes furious and urgently stops him from continuing to watch, hinting that there may be a much bigger secret hiding beneath the surface.
- Woo Jae also finally takes a step toward Eun Bin after years of being her long-time unrequited love. He secretly visits her and surprises her with a thoughtful jewelry gift. Although Eun Bin initially believed Woo Jae and Min Seo had grown close romantically, she soon learns the truth: Woo Jae had only asked Min Seo for help choosing a present for her. Realizing how unfairly she judged Min Seo all this time, Eun Bin becomes overwhelmed with guilt. Unable to keep the secret any longer, she asks Min Seo to promise not to do anything before revealing the truth about her biological mother. Min Seo hesitantly agrees, and Eun Bin finally shows her the old baby photograph that perfectly matches the one Min Seo has carried for years. She explains that if the rest of the family were to discover Se Ri secretly gave birth in the past, Se Ri could lose everything and be thrown out of the family she fought so hard to protect.
- Amid all the chaos, Se Ri finally achieves one of her longtime dreams and officially opens her own store as its owner-manager. On her very first day, she feels happier than ever as she proudly welcomes customers into her new beginning. But the joy is short-lived. Just as things seem to be looking up, the same man connected to her painful past suddenly appears at the front door, leaving Se Ri completely frozen in shock.
