The year 2020 has flown by so quickly and now we’re already starting a new year! We all ended 2020 with the Korean traditional year-end award programs, celebrating and honoring those who worked hard and participated in spreading the world of Korean content.
Let’s take some time to commemorate those who received the grand awards and give them a round of applause!
“2020 KBS Entertainment Awards” – Kim Sook
At the “2020 KBS Entertainment Awards“, Kim Sook took home the grand award (Daesang) for her work as a comedian and an entertainer for over 25 years. Kim Sook is a host for many of the KBS programs like “Love Naggers 3,” “I Was a Car 2,” “Boss In The Mirror,” and “Problem Child in House.”
“2020 KBS Drama Awards” – Cheon Ho Jin
Cheon Ho Jin has received the grand award again after he was announced as a grand winner back in 2017 with “My Golden Life.” He played Song Young Dal, father of four brothers and sisters and chairman of the Yongin Market Merchants Association, in the KBS weekend drama “Once Again” which surpassed 37 percent of the viewership rating.
“2020 MBC Entertainment Awards” – Yu Jae Seok
Yu Jae Seok made history by winning his 15th grand award. Along with the MBC’s best program of the year “How Do You Play?,” he also has received the grand award as the best entertainer of the year.
“2020 MBC Drama Awards” – Park Hae Jin
Along with the MBC’s best Drama of the year “Kkondae Intern,” Park Hae Jin has also received the grand award as the best actor of 2020. It was his first grand award after his 14 year of debut. On this day, Park Hae Jin said, “I don’t know if I can receive this award. My shoulders are heavy. It’s been 12 years since I won the ‘Best New Artist award’ at MBC. Thank you for giving me such a big award this year.”
“2020 SBS Entertainment Awards” – Kim Jong Kook
The Grand Award this year went to Kim Jong Kook, who is a fixed cast member in “Running Man” and “My Little Old Boy,” two of the most popular variety shows on KOCOWA. This is Kim Jong Kook’s first time winning a Grand Award at the SBS Entertainment Awards.
“2020 SBS Drama Awards” – Namgoong Min
Actor Namgoong Min won the grand prize for the “2020 SBS Drama Awards” for his drama “Stove League.” He played Baek Seung Soo (Namgoong Min) on the “Stove League,” the new head of the last-place professional baseball team, which received a lot of love with over 19% viewership ratings. On this day he showed his love towards his current girlfriend, who he has been dating for 7 years. “My dear Arum, who has been by my side for a long time. Thank you so much and I love you.”
