[DISCLAIMER: SPOILERS AHEAD!]

“Shouldn’t all priests be forgiving, and kind, and…?” In “The Fiery Priest”, hot-tempered Father Kim Hae-Il (Kim Nam-Gil) breaks the stereotype of priests.

Father Kim has a different stance when it comes to people who attend services only to make themselves feel better, “Those who only attend services so that they can sin in peace won’t go to heaven even if they take a shower in holy water.”

Not only did Father Kim charm viewers with his surprising bad temper as a priest, but other characters have also caught viewers’ attention with their hilarious actions.

Father Kim Hae-Il (Kim Nam-Gil) who is an adorable and loyal messenger of God

Breaking rules in the church, such as eating, is a no for Father Kim, no matter how hungry you are.

When anger fills up Father Kim’s head, no matter where he’s at, he goes, “Darn it!” But he doesn’t forget to pray after that.

Father Kim doesn’t forget to spread the love by buying dumplings for others even when he’s drunk.

Sister Kim In-Kyung (Baek Ji-Won) who is easily shaken by Father Kim whenever he throws his temper but is slowly becoming like him

They say true friends become more alike when they spend time with each other. Sister Kim and Father Kim may not really be friends in the beginning, but since this theory fits them, maybe… they are just meant to be friends.

In addition to developing a bad temper, Sister Kim adds a personal touch to that by throwing the wet blankets all too often.

Koo Dae-Young (Kim Sung Kyun), the corrupted detective who craves for a little love… from everyone

“What about me?”

For fear of not getting on the villain’s good side, his quick thinking helps him throw away the evidence instantaneously and shouts, “He did it!”

Prosecutor Park Kyung-Sun (Lee Ha-Nee) who goes weak over handsome men like a little girl

Oh Yo-Han (Ko Kyu-Pil) & Ssongsak (Ahn Chang-Hwan), the best friends who would say anything to each other

Yo-Han tells Ssongsak his secret, he has a supernatural power. He can hear sounds from a far distance when his stomach is full. To prove that to Ssongsak, Yo-Han moves away from him and tells him to say anything.

Hwang Cheol-Bum (Go Joon), a gangster who refuses to admit that he’s a gangster

A bow more than 30 degrees would make his gang seem more like gangsters, if they aren’t already one.

Inexperienced Russian gangsters who give away answers too easily

BONUS – Good-looking people who aren’t too photogenic…?

The Fiery Priest” is focusing more on hilarious scenes and slowing down on the main story as of current. There are too many corrupted characters in the drama and it seems as if Father Kim is fighting for justice on his own. These scenes are a little painful to watch, you’ll see detectives lying and finding excuses to help villains slip out of trouble blatantly.

But we still have many episodes left to go! Hopefully, the story could pick up its pace in its future episodes and those corrupted characters could start helping out as soon as possible.

Don’t miss out “The Fiery Priest” on KOCOWA!
