“For Eagle Brothers” Episodes 39 & 40 Recap:

• Dong Seok is given a special mission by the four brothers—they want him to be physically and mentally ready to date Kwang Sook. Determined to win their approval, Dong Seok hires a personal trainer and begins working out daily to prove himself.

• Dokgo Tak is enraged when he discovers that Mi Ae has been hiding the existence of their child. In a fit of fury, he tells her he’ll never divorce her and will keep her by his side just to torment her. He threatens to reveal the identity of Gang Soo’s biological mother, but Gang Soo refuses to know.
• Heung Soo learns that Ok Bun and the neighborhood vet were only pretending to flirt to make him jealous. Not realizing this, Heung Soo had stepped back, thinking Ok Bun deserved someone better. Once he discovers it was all to win his heart, he runs to her and apologizes for not understanding her true feelings.
• Dong Seok trains late into the night, determined to prove he’s worthy of Kwang Sook. The four brothers finally summon him to the gym for a final test, and he passes. But there’s one more challenge: they must see how he behaves when drunk. Fortunately, Dong Seok passes that test too, impressing the brothers.

• Meanwhile, Mi Ae suggests that she and Dokgo Tak part ways, as their relationship has become toxic. She fears Dokgo Tak’s reckless actions may destroy Gang Soo’s peace, especially if he reveals the truth. Terrified that Gang Soo may find out soon, Mi Ae makes the painful decision to end things.
• Se Ri gets a drunken call from Dokgo Tak, who confesses he’s lost hope after being pushed away by both his wife and daughter. Gang Soo overhears this and, though concerned, doesn’t believe Se Ri is to blame for the couple’s fragile relationship.
• After hearing her parents might divorce, Se Ri visits Mi Ae and Dokgo Tak, hoping to mend things by preparing them a homemade dinner.

• Dong Seok’s ex-mother-in-law arrives in Korea and stays at his hotel. While escorting her to her room, they run into Kwang Sook, who casually calls Dong Seok oppa, per their agreement not to use formal speech anymore. This baffles the ex-mother-in-law, who senses something is off and suppresses her discomfort. Dong Seok is also uneasy, knowing she has no idea he’s seeing someone new.
