We ended on a runaway bus about to hit Mu Jin, but we know this bus was sent by our deity, who is ready to have the mujin team help out another ghost in need. Your recap of episodes 5 and 6 of “Oh My Ghost Clients” is below!
Oh My Ghost Clients Recap Episode 5

Mu Jin braces himself for impact as the runaway bus is about to hit him, and he is transported back to the deity’s in-between world. The deity doesn’t blame the bus driver for nodding off behind the wheel; he blames the city and the system for not giving the bus driver enough breaks to have a proper rest to drive the bus!
Mu Jin knows this means he will have another ghost to help out, and we are given that hint that it will be a preventable system issue.
It isn’t long before we meet the ghost, and this time, this ghost is Mu Jin’s mom’s friend! She comes home with Mu Jin’s mom, but when Mu Jin asks his mother who this person is, the mother is all like, “Um, who is who?” However, the dog that the mother adopted sees the ghost and knows it!
After chatting with the ghost, who is non-verbal, he also has a chat with his mother and finds out the ghost is Young Suk, a woman who worked as a janitor at the same college as Mu Jin’s mother. Mu Jin’s mother is actually the one who found Young Suk passed away at her desk at home, studying for an exam that the school is forcing the janitors to take.
Mu Jin goes to the school and finds out that this exam is ridiculous. They force the janitors to dress to impress in their best outfits, berate them if their outfits don’t look good enough, and then force them to take a Pop Test about the school! As in they don’t know the questions before going in. All they know is that the test will be about the school. However, the questions are like “Who was the 12th dean of the agriculture department?” or “What year was the chemistry building built?” or something insanely difficult like that.
This test is a brand new requirement and stresses the janitors out so much because their job literally depends on it. If they fail three times, then they are up for termination. But to make matters even more humiliating, the people giving the test humiliate the janitors by reading their scores aloud to everyone and tsk-tsking about how they know nothing. It is time for the Mu Jin team to investigate!
The first round of investigation is all Mu Jin when the ghost has Mu Jin live in her shoes as she tries to clean the school and prepare for the exam. Young Suk, the ghost, loved working as a janitor at the school and loved helping the students by keeping their environment pristine. It was a thankless job because the students didn’t really acknowledge the janitors, but every now and again, a student would show their appreciation, which was always wonderful.
However, when the exams started, this stressed Young Suk out so much that she started having chest pain, which eventually led to her death.
Mu Jin gets all the janitors together at a restaurant and tells them that he wants to take on their case so that they do not have to take this exam anymore. It is a test that has nothing to do with their job requirements, so it is illegal to give it to them.
The janitors are hesitant at first, but Mu Jin’s mother gives a passionate speech about how they should do this for their friend Young Suk and the janitors who were fired and for themselves. They should no longer be pushovers!
This starts the peaceful protest!
But the school decides to get violent and calls in the local police to forcibly break up the peaceful protest, and they end up dragging Mu Jin off to jail!
Oh My Ghost Clients Recap Episode 6

In a lovely twist of events, Mu Jin’s estranged wife helps get him out of jail. She is actually proud of what Mu Jin is doing, though she is hesitant to tell him that yet. But you can tell she likes what she sees.
Mu Jin goes back to the school and tells the janitors that they have options. The main option is to form a union for collective bargaining. After some discussion, the janitors decide to band together and form a union and go through all the necessary steps to do that. Once they form the union, they meet with the school and offer up their demands, which are mainly to end the exam and to rehire their colleague who was fired due to failing the exam.
However, the school does not make this easy on them and will not submit to their demands. Mu Jin says they can go on strike since they have formed a union now, so the janitors strike and stop cleaning. Instead, they set up shop in front of the school.
Everything is wonderful with the strike, except the school plays dirty and has the student union come in for a meeting with the janitors. The student union tells the janitors that they are making their lives hard, and they will sue them. The janitors are devastated! They do this job because they love the kids and want them to succeed.
Mu Jin thinks that if the kids know what the janitors have to go through, then they will be on their side, so with the help of Young Suk, he writes a personal comment on a poster board and displays it for the students to read, which explains everything the janitors have to suffer through.
However, the students do not care and post a lot of their own Post-its to the poster board, telling the janitors that they are paying tuition to live in a pigsty.
This absolutely destroys the janitors! They are so sad that they want to quit. On top of that, the school tells the janitors that it is time for another test, so everyone leaves to go prepare for that, except Mu Jin’s mom. It is the lowest point in the show, for sure.
But! While sulking, three students show up at the protest tents and give Mu Jin’s mom a lot of snacks. They read the sign and didn’t know the janitors had to endure so much, so they wished the janitors lots of encouragement.
This gives team Mujin a plan – they need to get a secret live stream going inside the test!
Their resident influencer gets to work and gets a live stream set up with eyeglasses that Mu Jin’s mother wears to the test. From there, they live-stream the test and show the viewers exactly how ridiculous this is. Now, everyone watching knows how silly it is to make them dress up and how ludicrous the questions are. Many of the students watching are like, What kind of questions is this? I don’t know the answer to any of these!
On top of that, alumni of the school watch the live stream too and are highly embarrassed by what is happening at their alma mater. This is definitely the coolest moment in the two-episode story, with tons of laughs as the school tries to figure out just how this livestream is getting in. I loved it!
To make it even better, the alumni of the school came together and met with the president (who didn’t know this was happening) and said how embarrassed they were that this was happening at their school. They are also ashamed that the student union at the school sued the janitors. If anything, the student union should be on the janitor’s side!
Anyway, the chairman who was in charge of the janitors gets fired on live TV, the janitors get their friend rehired (and throw a fun little party for her), and Young Suk is happy and can rest in peace. It is the best ending to this story.
But that is not the ending for Mu Jin because Mu Jin gets a call to go to the hospital to check on someone when he runs into a friend at a convenience store. I haven’t mentioned him in the story before, but Mu Jin would sometimes go shopping at this convenience store and helped out this young kid when he could. They became friendly over time.
However, now this kid is a ghost! Mu Jin is shocked, the kid is shocked, I’m shocked – it is a roundrobing of being shocked over here! However, it is also the best reason for me to check out what happened to him in the next episode!
I must say these two episodes were pretty great and even offered some practical tips on starting a union. I am excited for next week!
