Watching “Weak Hero Class 1” has been a great experience for me, and I got to see a whole new side of Park Ji Hoon. I’m sure a lot of people have seen it, too, because he’s been a top search ever since this drama premiered on November 18!
If you want to know more about Park Ji Hoon, you have come to the right place! Park Ji Hoon is a child actor turned idol, and he’s currently an idol actor! If you’ve heard of the popular MNET survival program “Produce 101,” then you might be shocked to know that Park Ji Hoon ranked 2nd on season 2 of that reality talent competition and he’s very popular as a former Wanna One member who popularized the famous ‘Jeojang’ pose!
After the group disbanded, Park Ji Hoon re-focused on acting and starred in different dramas such as “Love Revolution” and “At A Distance Spring Is Green,” demonstrating his range as an actor. These two dramas showed his versatility because “Love Revolution” is a romantic comedy where Ji Hoon played a comedic character, but he played an opposite role in “At A Distance Spring Is Green”!
Thanks to “Weak Hero Class 1,” everyone now knows that Park Ji Hoon is the next top idol actor when he embodied his character Yeon Si Eun. I can’t help but marvel at how perfectly he played this part, especially in the pilot episode and the series finale.
Other Next Top Idol Actors
Last week, we talked about the standard of idol-turned-actors, and now, let’s move on to the next generation of great idol actors like Park Ji Hoon, who is sure to be the next big thing in K-Dramas!
Jinyoung
GOT7 Jinyoung is one of the top idol actors and has risen to prominence as a leading actor in a number of South Korean television series and movies. Jinyoung first started as an actor and made his debut in the second season of “Dream High“! 2022 is definitely Jinyoung’s year as the dramas and films he’s starred in have been huge critical successes. When Jinyoung acts with his eyes, it’s one of my favorite things to watch.
Rowoon
SF9 Rowoon is one of the most promising idol actors in Korean dramas right now. Early on in his career, he had supporting roles in dramas like “School 2017” and “Where Stars Land,” but with “Extra-ordinary You” he proved he was ready for the lead. He has led dramas with top actresses such as Park Eun Bin, Kim Hee Sun, and Won Jin Ah!
Lee Jun Young
Former U-Kiss and UNB member Jun or more popularly known now as actor Lee Jun Young is an example of being booked and busy now that he’s getting drama and movie projects left and right! Ever since starring in “Good Casting” and “Please Don’t Date Him,” Lee Junyoung always offers something new with his dramas and the characters he portrays.
Cha Eun Woo
ASTRO’s Cha Eun Woo is great at everything from singing, dancing, hosting, variety, and acting. Eunwoo had his acting debut in a web series, then played a supporting role in “Best Punch.” He is currently starring as a leading man in a variety of dramas. Recently, he received a lot of acting praise from the director of his newest movie and from his co-star, veteran actor Kim Rae Won!
Kang Seung Yoon
WINNER Kang Seung Yoon really caught my eye when he starred in “Prison Playbook” and “KAIROS.” Seung Yoon always makes sure that he gives his 100% in his roles, whether it’s as the lead, supporting, or extra, because his characters are always iconic and easily remembered!
Cha Hak Yeon
VIXX N, better known as Cha Hak Yeon, has already made his name as one of the next top idol actors! He started his acting career in different supporting roles, such as “Cheer Up!,” “Children of Nobody,” “2022 KBS Drama Special,” and a lot more! Nowadays, people recognize him as a talented actor who has appeared in numerous dramas!
Ong Seong Wu
Just like Park Jihoon, Ong Seongwu also made his debut as a Wanna One member! When the group disbanded, he focused on acting, and he’s now starring in different dramas and films alongside veteran actors and actresses!
Kang Chani
Another SF9 member who has a lot of potential is Chani! The young version of the male leads in “To the Beautiful You,” “The Innocent Man,” and other films marked his acting debut. The supporting roles that Chani has played in K-Dramas like “Sky Castle” and the ongoing K-Drama “Under the Queen’s Umbrella!” have earned him a reputation for picking strong scripts.
K-Drama’s future is really bright with all these promising idol actors! I know there are a lot more, and we’ll talk about them next time! In the meantime, if you still don’t know what to watch next, I highly recommend Park Ji Hoon’s “Weak Hero Class 1“!
