I knew June’s ‘Battle of the Dramas’ would be intense, and I was right! We almost got 900 votes because no one wanted to miss out on supporting Park Seo Joon and Park Bo Gum. ‘Reply 1988’ defeated ‘Kill Me, Heal Me’ with 59.06% of the votes while ‘Itaewon Class’ beat ‘Encounter’ by a landslide of 78.77%.
Geez, I get it. You guys don’t like noona romances, huh? (I’m kidding.)
Both popular actors ended up winning one battle, so if you’re a fan of either, feel free to celebrate.
Now it’s time to turn up the heat for July. The last couple of battles have featured actors, so it’s time to switch things up and put two actresses head-to-head.
Im Yoon Ah is our first contender. She’s known for being a member of the legendary group Girls’ Generation (aka SNSD) as well as the “Nation’s Ideal Type”. Yoon Ah has always been praised for her stunning visuals, but over the years she’s made a name for herself in the acting world. Some of her most notable dramas include “You Are My Destiny”, “The K2”, “Big Mouth”, and most recently “King the Land” with 2PM’s Lee Jun Ho.
Yoon Ah will be going up against her friend and fellow Girls’ Generation member Choi Soo Young! Brutal, huh? Soo Young’s known for her quick wit and statuesque frame, but her popularity has grown due to the quirky, unique dramas she chooses to star in. “Dating Agency: Cyrano”, “Tell Me What You Saw”, “Run On”, “So I Married an Anti-Fan”, and “If You Wish Upon Me” are a few titles on her eclectic resume.
Finally, it’s time to vote! Which Girls’ Generation member will you choose? I’m going to make it difficult by limiting the option to one drama per actress. The poll will close Friday, July 14th at 12AM Eastern Standard Time (EST).
Big Mouth vs If You Wish Upon Me
Both were heavy-hitting dramas, but my vote goes to “Big Mouth”. I love a good prison drama, and the mystery behind “Big Mouse” was intriguing. Yoon Ah’s acting was a pleasant surprise too. She’s really improved!
