Labor shenanigans, ghost grudges, and an unlucky lawyer in the middle of it all! Say hello to “Oh My Ghost Clients”, your newest justice based K-Drama that seeks revenge over romance, and we are here for it.
We are in catch up mode, so here is your recap for the first four episodes of “Oh My Ghost Clients” instead of only the first two episodes. Starting next week, we will be on schedule with weekly recaps.
Oh My Ghost Clients Recap Ep. 1 and 2

The first episode is actually all about how our unlucky labor lawyer, got in the predicament he is in so it is an easy one to recap. Here are the basic steps:
- He trusted a suddenly wealthy friend with a tip to quit his steady paying job and invest all his money in cryptocurrency. He was going to walk Mu Jin through the entire process. Only this friend is a bit reckless and loved speeding in his sports car and taking unnecessary risks, which led to his untimely, probably motor related, death before he could give Mu Jin all his tips. Now Mu Jin is broke and without a steady job. He cried his little heart out about it at the memorial service. His knowing former coworkers whispered that that won’t get him his job, his wife, or money back though.
- My Jin decided to try and become a labor lawyer without going to law school. He just needed to pass the labor lawyer test, which he did! After passing the exam, he drunkenly promised a statue representing justice that he would uphold the labor laws of Korea and gave it his business card – and that is where the paranormal magic may have started.
- Mu Jin opens a labor attorney office with his sister-in-law, and they struggle something terrible to get clients. They are super broke and months behind on their rent when the sister-in-law has an idea – hire her content creator friend, then go to factories around Seoul and tell them every labor law they are breaking, then charge them a consulting fee for it. It is a bit shady (okay, a lot shady), but these companies are endangering their employees’ lives, so it’s a blackmail tossup.
- However, they mess up when they go to a bigger factory outside Seoul, and while inspecting the factory, steel bars get hit out of a transport and fall onto Mu Jin! Mu Jin’s life flashes before his eyes and he is brought to a special all white place where he talks to a deity and signs a contract to help ghosts settle grudges – or die.
And that is where episode one ends. But episode 2 starts when Mu Jin wakes up and – he’s still alive! The steel plates land all around him, but miraculously, none of them hit him. It was all the deity’s doing.
However, now Mu Jin starts to see a teenage ghost! This ghost worked at the factory and was highly mistreated with all sorts of labor law violations all so that the company could save a buck. However, the company said it was the teen’s fault because he was working all by himself on a holiday weekend.
Mu Jin and the team get to work interviewing everyone they need to, from the teen’s school that sent him to work there, and the teen’s mom, who is a wreck and misses him dearly. Then they go undercover at the factory to get answers.
They find out that this factory is highly corrupt and hires people who can’t speak up for themselves due to financial or immigration status reasons. They use that to mistreat them and squeeze as much money out of them as possible.
But, due to the content creator of the team going undercover, they are able to expose the corruption and the real way the teen died due to neglect. He was told to work over Chuseok at night, along with all the other employees, and he was told to clean the machine while it was still operating. His arm got caught in the machine, and the workers couldn’t get him out of it, but instead of calling an ambulance, due to all the safety violations they ignored, the bosses just let him bleed out!
That is why this ghost is still around instead of passing on to the afterlife, and he is so happy that Mu Jin and team were able to get him the justice he deserved.
His mother is also extremely grateful to the team and prepared a simple yet heartwarming meal for them with her son’s favorite galbi. And she got to say a warm farewell to her son when he took over Mu Jin’s body and gave his mom their secret farewell heart and dance. It ended in a big hug that everyone on the team felt.
The Mu Jin team walked away thinking they were all done. They solved the case, and Mu Jin doesn’t see any ghosts anymore! But as they are walking back, a loose electrical wire breaks off a transformer and hits Mu Jin, sending him back to the deity for yet another assignment.
Oh My Ghost Clients Recap Ep. 3 and 4

This new assignment Mu Jin has involves the wrongful death of a nurse at a hospital. It just so happened to be the hospital that Mu Jin was treated for the electricity incident.
But this ghost is bout it and will get her revenge all by herself, so she takes over Mu Jin’s body and goes to the hospital to yell and slap around the doctor who blamed everything on her. It was such a painful experience that the nurse jumped off the hospital to her death.
The Mujin team catches up with him and stops him (slash her) from getting his (slash her) hits in just in time to keep Mu Jin from getting pulled away by the hospital police and thrown in jail.
The doctor doesn’t press charges because he knows what he did and sort of got a glimpse of the nurse ghost inside Mu Jin’s body (or at least the words Mu Jin was saying were ringing a bell with the doctor’s misdoings).
His sister in law, Hee Ju, and content creator Gyeon Woo think Mu Jin has gone cuckoo for cocopuffs. They thought this ghost thing was over with that last case. So they go to a shaman to try and get the ghost exorcised from Mu Jin’s body.
But the shaman figures out who the deity is controlling Mu Jin and won’t touch this exorcism with a ten-foot pole. She does offer up some discounted talismen, though.
Meanwhile, Mu Jin is at his wits’ end because the nurse ghost keeps visiting him. She really wants her revenge! The deity comes to him as well and tells him he needs to experience what happened firsthand. So she takes over his body and he experiences it all from her point of view.
The nurse had a horrible manager who verbally abused her to the point where the nurse could never do anything right. Then the doctor told her to give a patient an IV with some medicine in it. The nurse said the patient’s numbers were stable, but the doctor verbally abused her and told her not to do more than her station as a nurse.
The patient ended up coding and being taken to the ICU, and everyone in charge blamed the nurse. All of this piling up on her led her to jump off the hospital rooftop. Which also means that Mu Jin jumped off the roof and screamed his lungs out while falling to his death, but he ends up in the deity’s pristine white and turquoise office again.
The deity tells Mu Jin that he won’t be possessed again so long as he solves this case and gets justice for the nurse.
Episode 4 continues with this case, but in this episode, we are all about proving that the hospital did wrong. So while episode 3 was all about hearing out the ghost and bonding with her struggle on an emotional level, episode 4 is all about finding the evidence!
First, they will reach out to the bereaved family to get permission to represent them, then they will investigate the toxic workplace environment. Though Hee Ju lets him know that she will go home first, since it is 6pm, which means they are off the clock. Geon Joo readily agrees.
Mu Jin reluctantly goes home and definitely misses his wife a ton. But he has work to do, so he cleans a bit, and the next day he heads out to talk with the family. While talking to the family, Mu Jin finds out that they had tried to get a labor law firm to take the case, but they dropped it halfway through and told them no one else would take it on either. They are so thankful that Mu Jin is there to help them.
Hee Ju goes to the hospital to chat with nurses who were on the ghost nurses team. The nurses want to chat with her, but they signed a confidentiality agreement. They think it’s wrong that the head nurse is going about her life just fine while she drove nurse Cho Eun Young to kill herself.
The manager nurse is also catching hell from the doctor, who knows he was in the wrong with that one patient’s case. He tells the manager nurse she needs to keep her nurses in line or else.
Mu Jin and Hee Jin also meet with the detective from the team that first investigated the death. The detective said most people who end their own lives do it at work during an emotionally stressful time, so that is not uncommon. He heard the nurse was bright and happy, but she broke up with her boyfriend and became sad and depressed. They did not see any issues with her workplace.
Mu Jin knows that they need to find the workplace bullying report that the nurse wrote and was later chastised for. It had fallen out of her manager’s hands and went under a bookshelf at the hospital. They use Gyeon Woo to go undercover as a doctor to get it.
Of course, all sorts of problems pop up, including Mu Jin joining the search! You will need to watch this to see it, but it basically turns into a heist game of cat and mouse through the hospital.
At the same time, the manager who made the ghost nurse’s life a living hell has now decided to end her own life and stands on the edge of the hospital building to end it all. But Mu Jin and Gyeon Moo are there in time to catch her when she almost goes through with it. And ghost nurse Cho Eun Young is the one that comes out to convince her to hold on tight and get pulled up to safety. She accepts her manager’s apology and tells her to tell the truth.
The manager thoroughly apologizes for her part in everything and tells the truth about everything that happened. Mu Jin and team were also able to find the hazing report and used it as evidence. They also got interviews from nurses and the boyfriend. All felt horrible that they didn’t do more to ease the ghost nurse’s stress and sometimes added to it themselves.
Now they have all the evidence they need with the original verbal doctor’s note, the bullying report, and testimonies from people involved. The case makes nationwide news, everyone that was in the wrong is taken down, and it feels so good. Case closed!
It is a happy moment with the ghost nurse being able to say goodbye to the team and go to the afterlife. But, as the team warmly celebrates helping another person, a bus loses control and is about to ram right into Mu Jin!
Will Mu Jin have to die every time he gets a new client, because I’m kind of enjoying these “Final Destination” vibes to meet the deity.
